And David slew a Bear and a Lion

Do not panic.  The new Pope is Jorge Mario Bergoglio.  So from Jorge we have a Spanish George or Gog where the J is pronounced like an H.  Now we have a third Mario in Europe.  Mario Monti who was or still is the current PM of a mess called Italy.  Then there is Mario Draghi, the Head of the European Central Bank.  And now we have Mario the Pope.  And then we have his last name Ber-Gog-lio.  So HT: Daisy Stern.  She noticed that the prefix of Gog in the last name is Bear, and that the suffix is Leo the Lion.

So then I told her as follows.  David slew a bear and a lion to protect his sheep.  And that we should be calm about this.

So we have in Shmuel Aleph 17: 33- 37 after Shaul has been dethroned by G-d for not utterly destroying Amalek.  Those who follow this blog know that we have traveled from Chapter 13 of Shmuel Aleph where Shaul lost his Dynasty in the Gaza War on the 8th of Kislev to his alliance with the Amalekite in the Erev Rav, Tsippi Livni in Chapter 15.  So by natural progression we have reached chapter 17:

King Shaul complains to David that he is just a lad, and should not be the one to take on Goliath the Philistine.

But Shaul said to David, "You cannot go forth to this Pelishti to fight with him, for you are a lad while he is a warrior from his youth."   David said to Shaul, "Your servant was a shepherd for his father among the flocks; The lion or the bear would come and carry off a sheep from the flock, and I would go after it, strike it down, and rescue (the sheep) from its mouth.  If it would attack me I would grab onto its beard and strike it and kill it.  Your servant has slain even lion and bear;  and this uncircumcised Pelishti shall be like one of them, for he has disgraced the battalions of the Living G-d!"  Then David said, "HaShem Who rescued me from the hand of the lion and from the hand of the bear, He will rescue me from the Pelishti!"

Do not fret.  Everything is under Divine Providence.  On the 10th of Nisan 5773, month number 9 since Tisha B'Av 5772 will be upon us.  King Shaul has "apparently" formed a government at the last minute...maybe to greet the Obamanation the makes Desolate when he arrives on the 9th of Nisan and then will close all roads to Ramallah for Obama to greet the modern Pelishtim on the 10th of Nisan.  The Pey Lamed Shin root in all Semitic tongues means "invader".  So G-d has this under control.

Now neither BerGoglio or Obama have a beard. They are both clean shaven. But are we sure that Goliath had a beard too? These are simanim that we can hear the footsteps of Mashiach.

And make no mistake. Surely this Pope will join in with Obama to liberate Yerushalayim. He may look so kindly, but this is how he is described in a Newsmax article about him.

As for his politics, he is described as "more left than most" in the Church hierarchy, one who has expressed some sympathy for liberation theology and helping the poor — though some of this was voiced privately.

Read Latest Breaking News from Newsmax.com http://www.newsmax.com/Headline/Jorge-Bergoglio-LIGNET-Pope/2013/03/13/id/494557?s=al&promo_code=12CA0-1#ixzz2NTDUD5d5

Make no mistake. By the Liberation Theology movement, we Jews are colonizers of Yerushalayim who need to be displaced. If this Pope has expressed sympathy for that movement then he may speak kindly, but his heart is with Jeremiah Wright. It would truly be revolutionary for someone who has spoken words of support for Liberation Theology to support our right to be in Eretz Yisrael altogether. But of course we must wait until he speaks about the matter. We may not have to wait long at all. Maybe he will surprise us all.

Sorry for commenting so late, but the Geulah news never stops. In a recent post we spoke about two Bnai Bilhah that play a role in the Final Redemption process. One of them was Naftali ben Ya'akov. The other is the gilgul of Chushim ben Dan who at the End of Days is Serayah ben Dan, a Minister of Kah in the government who like a lion will leap forth from Bashan. Is this man Uri Ariel, The Light of the Lion of Keil? Here is his short bio.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Uri_Ariel

And here is his mission:

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/166205#.UUEmZdYSOow

I was told that he is a Kohen, but matrilinearly, who knows? Right now it looks like Moshe Boogie Ayalon will replace Barak as Defense Minister...if there is a government. Ariel will be in charge of the Land Authority and Construction/ Housing Ministry.

Sorry for the bombardment of information. Events seem to be picking up speed.

Don't get me wrong. Moshe Ayalon is a good man. He resigned his position as Chief of Staff in the IDF in Feb. of 2005 because he abhorred the coming up Disengagement from Gaza. I just don't know his role yet. We will see.

Thank you Dov, I just read the new pope's surname in a newspaper and got a shock!

I know you have posted about the land of Magog at great length, about how it can be considered to stretch from Siberia and Mongolia in the West to British Columbia and California in the East.

The new pope is from Argentina. Might this country be considered as included in the land of Magog?

I have tried to read somethign on the origins of the Amerindians that live in Argentina but there is little of note about their history over 500 years ago.

I did once see a documentary on British TV that suggested East Africans crossed to Australia, then onto South America, and ended up in Patagonia as they were pushed there by invaders from Siberia.

To me, "lion" refers to Bavel and "bear" refers to Paras. So, you have all 4 kingdoms + Gog in one man:

-->lio = lion = Bavel
-->Ber = bear = Paras
-->He now lives in Italia Shel Yavan
-->He is now the ruler of Edom
-->gog = Gog

More humor than anything else but...
In Venezuela the new president claims that Chavez had to die and ascend(decend?) to consult with yoshke in order to choose the final pope from South America. They also claim he is about to cause a coup there and reorganize the way religion is practiced.
Cult of weird personality, but he was peripherally a member of the axis of evil and allied with the North Koreans, Syria, and Iran.

Bergoglio or Bar-Goglio = Son of Gog = coming from Gog = MAGOG

Mario is male for Maria or Mary. The shoresh is MAR (mem resh) = 240 = Amalek

Listen to this:
"There was a major story in yesterday's NY Times about a new energy source being harvested by Japan under the floor of the Pacific ocean. It is much cheaper than oil and gas. It is ice full of gases that catches on fire even though it is ice. I was wondering at first if this could have been by makkas borod. I don't think so because it says the ice on fire by borod was not something that was derech teva. This is shayich to another limud however that it says in seforim when Yishmoel has temporary chashivus it is only because everyone needs them (dehaynu for oil). Chazal say the phony malchus of Yishmoel is like clay because it disintegrates after a short lifespan by bias goel. Halevay that this new energy source should make Arab oil irrelevant & usher in Moshiach tzikainu." (comment on a blog)

Time is short right now because of the Bar Mitzvah of our son last Shabbat, another Bar Mitzvah this past week and a wedding tonight and cleaning for Pesach. Yet, I just wanted to note that I am not sure if South America can be included in the Lands of Magog. The 2 Indian nations that were surely Mongol (from Magog across the Bering Strait) are the Apache and the Navajo. They speak a cognate of the Athabaskan family of languages from Central Mongolia. And of course it was Prescott Bush that dug up the skull of Geronimo. I don't know if any other tribes of Mongol origin made it down into South America. The only Pre-Columbian civilization that I know about south of Panama is the Incas. And the Incas were in the Peruvian Andes, not in Argentina. If someone has time, perhaps one can look into whether any South American indigenous peoples were from ancient Mongolia. Because of the Bering Strait crossing, this may have been only a North American phenomenon.

Let us face it. The previous Shmittah cycle was our Biblical opportunity to have a leader named Gog from the Land of Magog, to as they say in Texas, to bring it on. Because of our sins, we missed the real Biblical Gog son of Gog from the Land of Magog who would have lead a confederation including NATO and Russia to divide Yerushalayim.

3/14/2013 10:59 PM
Blogger Dov Bar-Leib said...

And of course the kinder, gentler Gog was the son of Magog himself who pledged the Skull and Bones Society. In the present cycle we get simanim, but we missed out on the real deal of Gog son of Magog. The main character of the Shmittah cycle is our boobie prize, b'itah, of the 11th horn dude from the Book of Daniel. Pope Francis won't be coalescing the military of NATO and Russia to divide Yerushalayim. He might give an Easter homily on this subject from that open window of the Sistine Chapel...but that is how far he will go. Instead of 7 years of Gog from Magog which began with the aerial bombing of Afghanistan on Hoshana Rabba 5762, the 1st year of a Shmittah cycle, it has been dragged out at least until 5773 but possibly to 5776. That would be up to 14 years. Those who doubled our time in this process need to think about what they may have done wrong. I mention this again and again because teshuvah is still possible and always necessary. Just read my comments in the last two or three posts to figure out what went wrong. Happy cleaning, and TGIF, Thank G-d It's Friday.

Yes, Bennett had American parents. In America E. Pluribus Unum is ingrained our blood growing up. Americans differ but historically know how to coalesce through compromise except in extreme examples like the Civil War. 90% of the time in American history, there was always a compromise between parties on the the extremes that during election campaigns refused to agree. Even Clinton and Gingrich would sit down to hammer out diffeences. This art of compromise seems to have escaped Americans since Obama took office though. Israelis don't learn that word compromise while playing in the sandbox growing up or even later on in university or yeshivah. In the yeshivah world, compromise is ok within the context of Eilu v'Eilu between dati Jews, but it does not extend to secular Israelis. In the end it took an American to smooth out the differences. And you watch, in the end, Bennett will be at the forefront of hammering out a compromise with Shas.

All I can ask is that anyone reading especially in chutz laeretz remember that there are Jews who stood up to terror were torn from their homes and are now finished financially and physically while you dined out in New York and LA. 25% of us live below the poverty line. Don't forget that we need to buy matzah for Pesach and have no idea how we will afford anything beyond boiled potatoes all week when for the rest of the year we and our children eat a measured ration of pasta; only rarely enjoying meat, cheese, or chicken. Amein to that. The US dollar is now being steadily devalued as the Fed Reserve "prints" more money and digitizes the debt in the US. The money in the bank in the US and in the markets is now worth less and less. I don't know when the torrent of collapse of the fiat system will happen. But it will, and at that time the banksters will have nothing. It is better to be here cleaning toilets.

If the poster who wrote about his suffering would email me at my email address along with those who want to help him, I will try to connect up those who want to donate with those who are in desperate shape. Helping each other to help each other is a good way to do teshuvah for the apathy of some in the real but previous Gog ben Gog Shmittah cycle

I am not a big fan of polls, because those being polled are fickle, unless it represents a long term trend. Here is the newest Knesset/Panels poll if the election were held today.

http://knessetjeremy.com/2013/03/14/knessetpanels-poll-yesh-atid-31-likud-beitenu-24-bayit-yehudi-18-labor-14/

Notice that Yeish Atid and Bayit Yehudi now have 31 and 18 respectively. And given that Bennett has behaved so honorably or ethically in the latest coalition talks, he will only be helped by that. Likud is down to 24, and the Party of the Witch of EinDor is down to ...3 seats. But our Shaul even for 3 of her seats would still give her the Erev Rav Justice portfolio and Amir Peretz's Agenda 21 Environmentist wacko portfolio. It is very evident that King Shaul's days are numbered. Also notice that support for Shas and UTJ are declining as we enter a Geulah mode. Yes, let us be frank. Shas is being punished for bringing back Aryeh Deri and his lying Oslo support 20 years ago for which he has never apologized, and UTJ, as explained previously, cannot be a proper vessel for Geulah because of their behavior 8 years ago. The vessels for Geulah belong to 2 Ya'irs, one Naftali, and one Uri. The light of Geulah shines on their faces.

one last point: Any Chareidi draft law when finally passed after much debate, will not be implemented for four more years. That has already been decided. So all the screaming and the yelling about something that will not be implemented until the next Eon, is a waste of time. The education matters such as math and science in all classrooms and Talmud study in secular classrooms will likely be implemented rather quickly. Also to break up the monopoly and the Kenunya (nest-building) power of the 18 will bring about an explosion in Israeli prosperity, G-d willing to be seen in 5773.

What is so peculiar about this hatred coming from Gafni, Litzman, and Deri is that in many places in Yesha, there are entire communities of Chareidim, or at least neighborhoods of Chareidim in various communities. Yes, these party leaders are obscene. The lack of common decency on their part is so blatant now that they are not in power. Will anyone in the Chareidi world take a stand?? Or is it like getting Muslims to condemn their own international terrorists. Is there any self- reflection on this type of behavior? Ten years ago Rav Ovadia Yosef basically reflected on the Oslo War, and vowed not to do it again what caused that war. But suddenly in this election, Deri was back. Why did he have to bring this vagrant back into political office? Eli Yishai was doing just fine without him. And the entire UTJ project is irredeemable. They have a greater Chavivut with Jews in Brooklyn than they do with Jews in Kiryat Arba. The fact that after the Disengagement that the criminals of the Disengagement, Gafni and Litzman, are still in charge is an abomination. Not one lesson in human decency was learned in the last 8 years. I desire the Torah of Eretz Yisrael. In the Ashkenazi world one has to be careful to look for such Gedolim who don't take marching orders from g'virim in Borough Park. They do exist here, but one has to look for them and not accept someone's gadlut on blind faith.

I don't think Bergoglio is a crypto/anusim name, but he does look Jewish. hhh

Moshe we can look at a text of Rav Yosef's public letter later. I will look for it again on-line.

I am against Cherems. With Shas if they get rid of Aryeh Deri and do some reflection, a compromise on many issues can be worked out.

UTJ is an entirely different matter. They have to gut the entire party philosophy. Along with Math and Science, they have to start teaching sefarim like Kol HaTor and the writings of Rav Avraham Kook zt"l in their schools. All the MKs with the possible exception of Meir Porush have to be sent into retirement. And someone needs to go into some of these schools to teach the kids laws of human decency which are kadmah to the Torah. Not all Chareidi schools have been infected with this grave error, but some have. When the spitters from Ramat Beit Shemesh Bet show up again at Dov Lipman's school to protest the next "aveirah", we will then do a background check on the spitters to see which schools might need a common decency teacher or not.

But I can't help still wondering why they don't consider him a muslim? Could it be that one side of his family is his biggest turnoff? But might that make him 'try harder' to appeal to them?

I presented a what if scenario to my husband on Shabbat. Imagine this, just before Pesach a modern day Pharaoh actually comes to Eretz Yisrael, ascends the Temple Mount and 'sings' the "call to prayer of the Muslims"! What a scene that would be. Everyone in shock (except Iran). They have been eerily silent about his visit to the ME, and that sends a message.

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/166283#.UUWvEhd24xI

I have to wonder if the reason why Bennett's party is on the rise at the expense of the Chareidi parties is because he is a unifier. He has no intention on pitting one group against the other. This is the spirit of Mashiach ben Ephraim even if the main man is still sitting in an American jail for over 27 years.

It also seems in the context of the so called Piece of Donkey Dung Process negotiations with the stateless Arabs, Bennett has inserted himself at the negotiating table. This is a brilliant move because any attempt to make these negotiations secret by Livni will fail. This is crucial that day by day negotiations are broadcast on Bennett's Facebook page. If Abbas for instance supposedly makes a concession in private that only 100,000 other stateless Arabs under the title of refugees get to "return" to Israel proper, Bennett can then notify the informed Israeli voters that Abbas has actually made a concession. Then we will all watch how quickly Abbas denies that he ever made such a concession as he quickly finds a rock to hide under in his effort to stay alive from an assassins bullet. Then the Witch of EinDor will erupt in slithering bitter hatred against Bennett for informing us all what she is up to. She will then bow down before her dog-faced god, World Public Opinion, and we will watch how the Eibishter slaps the little witch around silly. In e"y if you have emuna it can get razor tight but hasgacha including loans, work, and gifts from friends covers our needs if we hold tight.
My point is for people to find someone you think is in need, find out what they can do, hire them to do something makes them feel productive for you or even use a out of town friend so it is not obvious, pay them well for the work, don't assume that with your charity comes the obligation to help with your unrequested well intended advice, would you do that to your plumber or kablan?
Most importantly please don't come to hate someone you have helped who is in an ufortunate situation because they either don't improve or die, I have lost many friends especially in the years before one major surgery who don't want to feel depressed seeing me.
Real productive work for pay as opposed to cash handout takes away that burning shame that a once productive and perhaps well paid professional person has been reduced to schnoring.
My post was not intended to schnore for myself but to get people to remember their brothers and sisters especially at the yomim tovim and to give themselves and am Ysrael a great segula.
I am also concerned that my post not be a bad report against living in the land, if this had happened in America I would probably be homeless if not deceased without insurance.

I should have said she will grow a wart and not a pimple. Warts are supposedly associated with witchcraft.

On the subject of this weeks Haftarah, we always hope that Eliyahu haNavi will show up each year to herald Mashiach Ben David. But the 5th year is the year of Ben Ephraim and prosperity in both Ruchniyut and Gashmiyut. So Derekh Hateva we are not quite there. We know from the Talmud that the 6th year of the Shmittah cycle before Ben David shows up is the year of Kolot, Voices. The Kolot are the Voices of Prophesy. So the 6th year, 5774, near the end of this 50 year Yovel Cycle which began in 5727 (1967) is the most likely time for Eliyahu HaNavi to show up as the Geulah progresses. Since 5776 is likely the Yovel of Yovelot, then 5774 is the year when prophesy should return to Klal Yisrael. This is all b'itah. Of course things can progress more quickly, but this is where we are headed without a quickening.

So far I found, via a Italian genealogy source:
Ber ... Jewish, from Baer
Goglia Last name origin & meaning:
Italian: habitational name from Goglia in Novara province.
He does not have a conventional Italian name.
When did he arrive? If he was born in 36, maybe in the late 40's
Immigration to Argentina From 7.9 million in 1914, and to 15.8 million in 1947; during that time 1.4 million Italians

Speaking of Mashiach ben Ephraim, our new Speaker of the Knesset, Yuli Edelstein, was the first MK or Minister to ever visit Yehonatan Pollard. I think he was still in Marion, Illinois at this time, but the article says that he was already at Butner. I don't remember when Pollard was moved.

http://www.israelnationalnews.com/News/News.aspx/166312#.UUYeIBd24xI

I am seriously thinking of standing in front of Sirhan Sirhan's boyhood road on the road to Ramallah this coming Thursday with a sign for Obama to release Yehonatan Pollard. Feiglin is going to publicly ignore what Obama has to say when he is here for the sake of Yehonatan. I think it is good practice to ignore what Obama has to say on every occasion, not just when Pollard is still in jail.

By the way, don't ask me what happened to Reuven Rivlin. Why was he replaced as Knesset Speaker? Every time there is a mystery about why King Shaul fires someone, and replaces that person, a story pops up about his wife Sarah N. Because it is innuendo, I try to ignore it. But Rivlin's strange dismissal is simply more strange behavior coming from Bibi as he slowly goes crazy. Ruby Rivlin is the distant descendant of Rav Hillel Rivlin, student of the Gaon and the author of Kol HaTor.

Neshama, he was born in Argentina according to this. Didn't have time to look further about his mother. from wikipedia which isn't always accurate but usually ok on biographical stuff and this was well documented

Jorge Mario Bergoglio was born in Buenos Aires, one of the five children of Mario José Bergoglio, an Italian immigrant railway worker born in Portacomaro (Province of Asti) in Italy's Piedmont region, and his wife Regina María Sívori[2], a housewife born in Buenos Aires to a family of northern Italian (Piedmontese-Genoese) origin.

Dov, you referred to the "election letter", written by Rav Ovadia Yosef two days before the election of 2003. The letter says פסק ההלכה אשר נתתי בזמנו "שטחים תמורת שלום", אינו תקף כלל לרגל המצב הנוכחי.

In the matzav of 1993 the psak Halacha did apply and in 2003 it did not apply.

We must guess what went wrong in 1993, and why it went wrong. That is, if something went wrong in 1993, because even that is not clear, as there is no apology.

Importantly, we must guess what will be when the successor of Abbas will make promising statements.

Ok this is last i post about Bergoglio for now but this is really interesting. He carries the name Bergoglio from his father's side, but from his mother's side the name Sivori. However his mother's family name was Gogna. In Hebrew the suffix na means intensity, i think. But this would be Italian or Spanish or Portugese if they were anusim.
