The Yovel of Yovelot (A Recap) and Other Matters

As a point of departure on this blog, it has been decided that it is best to talk about prophetic events as they unfold.  For instance, one cannot talk about the Ba'al Kerry sending troops to the Valley of Yehoshafat until he actually authorizes sending those troops.  makes perfect sense to me.  So I am working on one of my Confluence between the Science and Torah posts in the interim.  It will cover to best of my ability the Four Universes according to Kabbalah and the four primordial forces of nature, 10 and 11 and yes 26 Dimensional heterotic String Theory which unifies all four fundamental forces of nature including gravity into one equation.  Yes, those numbers above should excite any observant Jew.  Yet, writing a post like this qualitatively takes time because one has to qualitatively describe in layman's terms complex mathematical formulas.  And the necessity for all those extra dimensions is because Gravity, the stubborn force of nature, refused to be mathematically described by four dimensional or 7 half-dimensional spacetime rules which unify the other three forces of nature into one equation.  The answer is now obvious.  The force of gravity transcends space and time itself and seems to emanate from a universe which transcends the moment of Creation itself.  It comes from Atzilut where Yud Key Vav Key and His garment of 10 sefirot of Elokim dwell.  So until Physics began to hypothetically propose the existence of a pre-Creation universe of 10, 11, and 26 dimensions, it could not unify gravity with the other forces of nature.  In that essay I will seek to prove that electromagnetism emanates from the World of Asiyah, that the Weak Force emanates from the World of Yetzirah and is therefore held prisoner by lead, and that the Strong force emanates from the World of Beri'ah and is therefore held prisoner by iron.  For instance, the yetzer hara for avodah zarah comes from the world of Yetzirah, and it was held in a prison by a lead box. It is describes right here in Talmud Yoma 69b:

Is it not written: And Ezra the scribe stood upon a pulpit of wood, which
they had made for the purpose. [. . . and Ezra praised the great God].8 And R. Giddal [commenting
thereupon] said: He magnified Him by [pronouncing] the Ineffable Name?-That was a decision in an
emergency.9 And [they] cried with a great [loud] voice unto the Lord, their God.10 What did they
cry? — Woe, woe, it is he11 who has destroyed the Sanctuary, burnt the Temple, killed all the
righteous, driven all Israel into exile, and is still dancing around among us! Thou hast surely given
him to us so that we may receive reward through him.12 We want neither him, the tayvah for Avodah Zarah, nor reward through him! Thereupon a tablet fell down from heaven for them, whereupon the word ‘truth’ was inscribed. (R. Hanina said: One may learn therefrom that the seal of the Holy One, blessed be He, is truth). They ordered a fast of three days and three nights, whereupon he (the tempter or demon for Avodah Zarah) was surrendered to them. He came forth from the Holy of Holies like a young fiery lion. Thereupon the Prophet (Zecharia) said to Israel:

This is the evil desire of idolatry, as it is said: And he said: This is wickedness.14 As they took hold
of him a hair of his beard fell out, he raised his voice and it went [was audible] four hundred
parasangs. Thereupon they said: How shall we act? Perhaps, God forbid, they might have mercy
upon him from heaven! — The prophet (Zecharia) said unto them: Cast him into a leaden pot, closing its opening with lead. Because lead absorbs the voice (or radiation), as it is said: And he said: This is wickedness. And he cast her down into the midst of the measure, and he cast the weight of lead upon the mouth thereof. (Zecharia 5:8) They said: Since this is a time of Grace, let us pray for mercy for the Tempter to evil.  (The evil tempter for avodah zarah and immorality are one and the same.) They prayed for mercy, and he was handed over to them. He said to them: Realize that if you kill him, the world goes down.  (There will be no procreation.) They imprisoned him for three days, then looked in the whole land of Israel for a fresh egg and could not find it.( Since men were no longer tempted to have sex, no human eggs were fertilized, but this might apply to eggs of all living creatures.  The text even seems to say that no eggs were produced!)  Thereupon they said: What shall we do now? Shall we kill him? The world would then go down. Shall we beg for half-mercy? (They thought that it was possible to let this tempter for immorality loose while preventing him from tempting for avodah zarah)  They do not grant ‘halves’ in heaven. (Sorry, wise men of the Great Assembly.  If the tempter for sex is let loose in the world, one cannot cancel out its other deleterious effects.)  They put out his eyes and let him go. It helped inasmuch as he no more entices men to commit incest.  (They somehow blinded the demon, thereby reducing his potency before letting him loose in the world again.)

One might say that it is no longer useful to look for this lead pot because the demon in charge of avodah zarah is no longer held prisoner in this pot.  Getting back to our story:

We know that all radioactive decay chains where the Weak Force rules and controls Beta decay end in a stable isotope of lead.  Beta emission is almost always an electron from an overwhelmingly positive nucleus.  It order for a nucleus loaded with protons to emit an electron, there has to be an additional force called the Weak Force that pushes those electrons out of the nucleus.  When the electron leaves, one of the nuclear neutrons becomes a proton of opposite spin, I believe.  Lead is therefore a enclosure for radiation since it cannot be penetrated by radioactive substances to create more decay by the lead box itself.  Stable isotopes of lead are therefore impervious to the Weak Force and act as containments for things that draw energy from their surroundings.  Since the tayvah or demon for Avodah Zarah was contained in a lead box for three days, that tayvah or demon drew its strength from the Weak Force and could not escape the lead box that imprisoned it.  Yet, we know according to Kabbalah that demonic forces that feed the Yetzer HaRa have their origins in Olam Yetzirah (The Universe of Formation).  This is just a sample of what I will be writing about.  For something like this, I will have to include sample charts of various decay chains that all end in lead.

In the meantime, let us review where we are right now:
I posted this comment on the Esser Agaroth blog:  He refreshingly says that he chose that name for his blog because ten agarot (1/10th of a shekel) is worth about two cents.  So we get his two cents worth of info when he posts.  We should now inform him that ten agarot have been inflating over the last seven years and they are now worth just under three cents.  Blame that on the collapsing dollar.

According to the chart here (The Yovel Cycles starting with Ezra HaSofer)

we are nearing the end of the 48th Yovel Cycle since Ezra HaSofer. All the Yovel cycles during the 2nd Temple period had 50 years while the remaining Yovel cycles after the Churban have been 49 year cycles. This is so because the Yovel year, being the 15th and 65th year of every Jewish Century, "decoupled" from the 7x7 years of the Shmittah cycles with the destruction of the 2nd Temple. Notice that the 48th Yovel Cycle (Yesod shebeMalkhut cycle) began in 5727 (1967). Since all that happened to Yosef happened to Tzion, we have had 48 1/2 years to get it right through our own efforts by bringing Mashiach ben Ephraim or MBYosef to rule over a united Yerushalayim. Because of infighting, outright Rishut, and major hashkafic divisions amongst Torah observant Jews, we only got as far as we have gotten by the grace of G-d. It is time to turn the page to the next phase. By this coming Shmittah year we enter the Malkhut sheBeMalkhut year of this Yovel cycle where we transition to Mashiach ben David at the beginning of the Malkhut sheBeMalkhut Yovel cycle in 5776. The transition year 5775 will be like holding on to a blanket as G-d shakes out the world. Hold on! I think that the preliminaries such as the coming of Eliyahu start this coming Nisan to prepare us all. Last thought: I saw this years ago that a shana me'uberet must classically take place during the famous 9 months which we are in already. According to one opinion those 13 months/ nine months conclude on Rosh Chodesh Nisan after Adar Sheini. And we just so happen to be at the end of the Ba'al Kerry's declared 9 months with 4 x 26 (YKVK) releases of murderers.

Also as posted in the comments section of my blog about the Koreas in the Twilight Zone:

It has a lot to do with the Koreas in the Twilight Zone since the next nuclear war will likely begin by the end of 5775 when North Korea, an ally of Persia, Assad, and the Shi'ites in Batzrah, shoots off a nuclear missile, probably due south of its border to Sheoul. The Gates of Heaven and Hell (Sheoul) are about to open. Seoul is 10 degrees west of the Tzeit Kochavim line. At 2.5 years per degree after the year 5750 (high noon on Yom Shishi), Seoul enters Yom sheKulo Shabbat. 5750 + 25 years is 5775.

All of the above is in my post from years ago entitled Koreas in the Twilight Zone. We can safely assume that from the year 5750 onwards we have been in the last pre-Messianic generation. The Jewish day is determined when it is High Noon in Yerushalayim which is at 35 degrees east of Greenwich, England. At that very moment it is sunset, 90 degrees further to the east, in the Yellow Sea at 125 degrees east. Twelve degrees further east takes us to Tzeit Kochavim, where the stars are out, at 137 degrees east at the same time it is high noon in Yerushalayim. Over the next 250 years Yerushalayim MUST enter Yom sheKulo Shabbat by the year 6000. At 250 years divided by 102 degrees, we get the figure of 2.5 years per degree approx. For further elucidation, click Koreas in the Twilight Zone   The point being that there is no way to escape the fact that Seoul, South Korea enters Yom sheKulo Shabbat some time in the Shmittah year 5775.

This is important because the Zohar in VaEira ties in a 3 months war "at the edge of the world" to the destruction of Edom in Batzrah.  This Zohar is the hint on the Great War between Edom and Persia that will engulf the world during the Shmittah year 5775....b'itah.

I hope it's OK that I am continuing a thought from the last post over here.

As a comment to the last post I brought a thought about the world's depopulation from what is now 3 parts of a series titled "End of the Modern World" on the Mystical Paths blog. Now the counterpoint has been posted there - what should be Part 4 is an article by David P. Goldman from the Middle East Forum, titled "Point of No Return - In the Right Direction" - about Israel's trends moving in the opposite direction from the world around her: her growing population and becoming the most religious country in the world (this despite all the discouragement and disparagement from the Erev Rav leadership here).

May HaShem bless this development, help us become independent of any other country whether we have everything we want or not, and help us win both parts of the war, within and without.

Somehow I think that some of the contents of that blog and this one are tying together rather nicely.

Excellent post, Dov. I will need to reread to get it's full flavor. I also am glad that you posted on the Koreas and linked to your older post as I have been thinking much on the Koreas at the keitz hayomim. Interesting that they are in the zone completely or almost completely.
They for sure are an evil empire. Is there anything in the sources familiar to you about their evil (which is sickening beyond) and the keitz hayomim/ Meaning they seem to (based upon the reports) be unbelievably evil with a ruler who is a major anti-social personality disordered person despot.

I wanted to quickly add one thing. If one introduces into the mix that a Beta minus decay from the nucleus also produces an anti-neutrino from the same decay, the spin is conserved. But I want to avoid those pesky neutral almost zero mass critters in this discussion. Understanding neutrinos is beyond the scope of this qualitative essay.

Let us say that in all Beta decay, the total number of neutrons and protons remain the same. So the total spin in the nucleus must be either a whole number or a half number. If it is a whole number before the decay, then it must be a whole number after the decay. (This is the case for an even number of protons and neutrons). Each nucleon, (neutrons and protons), themselves have a spin of 1/2 or -1/2. So if there are an odd number of nucleons, the total spin will be a half integer. Now Beta minus particles aka electrons have a spin of +1/2 or -1/2. And as mentioned above after a Beta decay where a neutron turns into a proton, the total number of of nucleons remains the same. So there has to be another mystery particle with spin of 1/2 or -1/2 to keep the spin of the nucleus the same. There it is: our pesky neutrino!

If this is too complicated to understand, ignore it. Think of it as an addendum for more advanced students.

Here is the official story of the birth of Kim Jung Un's father, Kim Jung Il:

However, Kim Jong-il's official biography states he was born in a secret military camp on Baekdu Mountain, an active volcano, (Korean: 백두산밀영고향집) in Japanese-occupied Korea on 16 February 1942.[11] Official biographers claim that his birth at Baekdu Mountain was foretold by a swallow, and heralded by the appearance of a double rainbow across the sky over the mountain and a new star in the heavens.[12]

If I were raised on such tripe that my father was a god, I would be nuts too. Hereditary rule has been unknown in the Communist world until it has been tried in North Korea, now in its 3rd generation. It was bound to produce a freak.

Today on the BBC news was a feature about concentration camps in North Korea.
It dawned on me that the world sat and watched whilst we were in the camps in the 1930's and 1940's, all be it that a few righteous people fought back.
Then of course the Allies went to war with Germany, though not because of the camps.
Today the world also sits and watches.
We condemn the camps, but what do we actually do about them?
What can we do?
Israel fights the North Korean's allies, but who directly confronts the North Koreans and their evil regime?
I await the further String Theory post with great interest.
One more thought. We all (unless we are Tzaddikim) battle with our Yetzer Hara.
It is the toughest fight for me, I often lose.
My fight does not exactly take the form of combat against a desire for worshipping idols, but I leave it up to the reader to make an educated guess how it particularly affects me.
Is there any way that lead could help me win?

I have been very troubled by the fact that the Korean people in the concentration camps have chiefly been ignored by the world, just as were the Jews during the holocaust. We, of all people, should be leading the effort to liberate the oppressed in North Korea! Is it right that we ignore their suffering?

I posted this on Batya's blog:

This time we WILL have something new. We WILL be redeemed despite what 80% want to do to commit national suicide. We are at the End. Either during Sukkot of 5775 or 5776, the 80% that want to commit national suicide will have to heel or else. Eliyahu HaNavi is coming before that, and he will read them the riot act.

1. We have already suffered more than our full measure of suffering over the last 2000 years.
2. So many have simply lost faith in a G-d who has allowed so much suffering, and will not believe in HIM until He makes it painfully obvious that HE is pulling the strings.

Those of us who know better will be rewarded, but the angry masses of Ashkenazim need to see that G-d loves them, and it is HE who is loving them. The European Dark Continent was a hellhole. G-d has relented of His midah of Judgement against them because He knows the hellhole that they have limped out of in 5708. But Eliyahu HaNavi is coming soon enough. So when that happens they will lose the excuse that G-d does not exist or that He hates them. This is a unique time in history. This post-Shoah generations are without precedent.

Whoever chose the numbers of 4 x 26 prisoner releases over 9 months knows how much we have suffered. It is coming b'Rachamim for those who seek Him. The others will feel His Wrath.

Just found out that the last prisoner release will be on the 26th of Adar Sheini. As hard as this period of time, the Ba'al Kerry's 9 months, has been, it will be good, very good.

I'm glad you're back to posting on the fascinating subject of Torah and science.
I find it interesting that davka the "heaviest" of the 4 forces is the one that emanates from the highest of the 4 worlds.
BTW, on whom do you base your interpretation of the Gemora about the Sages' wish to ask for "half mercy"? It conflicts with Rashi, who explains they wanted a man's sexual urge to be constricted to his wife only. (Thus "not granting halves in heaven" means that heaven wont grant something that requires a permanent miraculous change of nature)

I would like to commend you for your approach regarding Science and Torah. For now, I have two questions.

Firstly, as you know, electromagnetism and the weak interaction have been unified. The result, W and Z bosons. and lately also the Higgs boson, have been found experimentally. What does this say about your approach. Two worlds are really one world?

Secondly, but along this path, a fusion between Science and Torah would need at least one experimental prediction, in Science, that is coming from Torah. Otherwise, you will gather only supporters in the "Torah" world. Do you think that the experimental prediction is possible? Care to guess?

Dan G.: Thank you for pointing out the Rashi. But it leaves open the question that if the yetzer hara for Avodah Zarah (idolatry) is from the same root as the yetzer hara for incest, how does releasing it blinded into the world rid the world of idolatry?? I would argue that there is also still a weakened tayva for avodah zarah in the world. We see it in places like India and yes in Brazil and Haiti. Yet these things have been weakened in power. At the same time that the tayva for avodah zarah was reduced in the world, the channel for prophesy was removed from the world too. Yet, since avodah zarah has remained in a weakened state, Ruach HaQodesh was allowed to remain too.

Madaral: The ElectroWeak force only exists as a united force at energy levels of 100 GeV. One can even unite the Strong Force with the ElectroWeak force at even much higher temperatures. This does not prevent them from being separate forces at terrestrial temperatures. As a matter of fact at the time of the Big Bang when temperatures were extremely high, these three forces were united as one. It is only Gravity whose unity with the other three forces preceded Briat HaOlam in the form of the 11 and 26 Dimensional String (HaShem and his ten sefirot), that cannot be united with the other three by simply ratcheting up the temperatures. more later.

more later.

Michio Kaku:

Chemistry is nothing but the melodies you can play on vibrating strings, and the mind of God, the mind of God that Einstein worked on for the last 30 years of his life, the mind of God would be cosmic music. Cosmic music resonating through 11 dimensional hyperspace. You see, our universe is a symphony. It's a symphony of vibrating strings and possibly membranes, but when it was born, it was born as a perfect entity in 11 dimensional hyperspace. That may eventually give us "a theory of everything."

We have arrived. The confluence between the Torah and Science is almost complete. It makes sense that it was supposed to be that way at the dawn of the Messianic Era.

In other places Dr. Kaku refers to the music of the Spheres (or Spherot). Adding that to his statement we get the profound deduction of Chochmah of human endeavor after almost 5800 years:

The Mind of G-d is the Music of the Spherot resonating through 11 Dimensional Hyperspace. That is not really my quote. It is the quote of Dr. Michio Kaku, one of the foremost physicists of our time.

Dov, I didn't understand your question. Where does the Gemora say that the blinding of the yetzer of illegitimate sex had any effect on the yetzer of idolatry?
They are two separate cases: the yezter of idolatry was locked in a case of lead thus practically nullifying its power; the yetzer of illegitimate sex was blinded thus weakening it, leaving us with a tayva for adultery but not incest.
As for the vestiges of idolatry remaining in the world, I don't think it's being practiced out of tayva, rather out of the inertia of ancient customs. And even if you do see it as a tayva, after all man still has free choice, and there are also weirdos who develop a tayva for incest even though it was gotten rid of.

But now I see my error. The tayva for incest was a separate tayva because it says that "he was handed over to them" after they had already trapped the tayva for idolatry in a lead pot. So apparently they had a second tayva in the same lead pot for another three days, the tayva for incest being a twin but separate tayva than the one for idolatry. So the tayva for idolatry is still trapped in a lead pot somewhere while the one for incest was blinded and let loose in the world. Thanks for the correction. Now do you have any idea where they buried that lead pot?? I guess if we ever opened it, that it would be like opening Pandora's Box, lehavdil?...since the Tayva is still trapped inside!!

Dov, even though I'm a complete ignoramus concerning anything beyond 3 dimensions, I noticed a significant correlation between your numbers:
After we know that there are 4 dimensions which we can perceive with our physical senses, describing the world as 11-dimensional means taking into account the 7 lower sfirot which we can perceive spiritually (10 dimensions would mean counting only 6 spiritual dimensions because the 4 physical dimensions could be considered as the manifestation of Malchut - which btw is symbolized by the letter dalet).
To get to 26 we have to add 15, which is yud+heh, chochma and bina, which we can't perceive at all, but only intellectually deduct their existence.
Does this fit in with your theory?

How about writing in respectful English something like "Whilst we are discussing Brazil's karma please consider these two items?".

I am getting really fed up of the aggressive language used by people on internet Forums. It really does not take much to discuss something in an adult fashion.

I was merely throwing a subject out there for discussion.

I should point out that the Barzel or Brazil is impervious to the Strong Nuclear Force. It has the power to restrain angels and to close off shamayim to prayer as we read in Leviticus: I will make your Heaven like iron and your land like copper. In Devarim it reverses the order by turning the Heavens into copper and the earth into iron. Copper is the Chochmah of Greek philosophy which allows for denying the existence of G-d, but a Heaven of iron is much worse because even if one were to pray, angels would not be able to escort our prayers into Olam Atziluth with a Heaven of iron. Edom is most represented by iron in Daniel's vision and would lead to Heaven being closed off to our prayers if the order in Devarim 28:23 had not been reversed. The iron on earth is therefore only an earthly curse and not a curse to cut us off from G-d. Of course, if the Vatican controls the "Upper Room" above King David's tomb, that will be one place where it will be difficult to pray because Edom is compared to iron. Having iron walls such as the four wives of Ya'akov Avinu is not negative at all since it neither cuts one off from Heaven or from the sustenance of physical reality below, but it does protect us from "evil angels" that exist around us.

This is in a very truncated nutshell what I wanted to discuss about the spiritual attributes of iron. Iron is to the nuclear strong force what lead is to the nuclear weak force. As any physics student knows, the iron nucleus is the most stable nucleus and is the end product for all nuclear fusion. I will be glad to discuss this more after Shabbat. We are a bit truncated for time ourselves now. I just wanted to cool off the bickering about Brazil. There are obviously a lot of bad attributes to being iron, but there are some good ones too. Brazil has a lot of the bad ones. Yet, since Uzza and Aza'el, two Nefillim, are held prisoner by chains of iron, iron has positive spiritual uses too. (This needs research but I think that these two fallen angels combine to give us Azazel who is mentioned with regards to the scapegoat.) This is a lot of heady stuff for a Friday. But everyone cool off.

The copper, silver, and gold that are used to serve HaShem in Olam HaAsiyah, particularly in the Mishkan, are most related to the electro-magnetic Force. They are all chemically in the 9D column of elements of the periodic table. They all have a valence of one electron with copper have a potential valence of 2 electrons. They are all ductile, malleable, and conductive of electric current and therefore setting up a radio transmitter. They also represent the various ways that our Divine and animal souls are "attached" to our bodies. The valence electron of gold has the same ionization potential of our neshama tied to our hearts. The valence electron of silver has the same ionization potential of our animal soul tied to our hearts. And the valence electron of copper has the same ionization potential of the upper part of our neshama tied to our brains. So this is the source of the first three preliminary kingdoms. Since the lower part of our neshama is most associated with gayvah, the golden head in Nebuchadnezzar's vision represented his gayvah. The silver torso represented the tayvah of Persia which comes from the animal soul. And the copper of Yawan represents the Chochmah of the upper part of the neshama tied to the brain. Since the animal soul is of this world and not other worldly, it does NOT need to be noded at the brain like the neshama is.

While the Jewish people use these three metals to serve HaShem. Look at the Olympic Games to see what the Greeks do with these same 3 medals/metals. Shabbat Shalom.

Dan G.: Then there is this from Brakhot 32b: R. Eleazar also said: Since the day that the Temple was destroyed, a wall of iron has intervened between Israel and their Father in Heaven, as it says, And take thou unto thee an iron griddle, and set it for a wall of iron between thee and the city (Ezekiel 4:3).

So yes our prayers ascend to HaShem, but they are not necessarily escorted by angels since angels can't make it past that iron partition. It is NOT the same as it was when we had a Beit HaMiqdash when the Throne of Glory was here on earth. If the prayers are accompanied by tears, they don't need an angelic escort. So no iron wall can stop those prayers from reaching HaShem. Yet, the tochachah in Devarim does not mention the iron partition while the tochachah in VaYikra does. What seems to be the case is that our prayers require concentration and kavanah to reach HaShem. If they are not fully heartfelt, they might need an angelic escort which can't penetrate the iron partition. Prayer needs kavanah.

Be very very careful when trying to merge current understanding of the physical world with kabalistic thought.

By careful, I mean make clear to the layman that you do NOT know for a certainty that your ideas are accurate. For instance, the mekubalim may have been talking about a completely separate matter that is simply echoed in the physical world, as we see patterns of themes and ideas repeat themselves throughout creation.

Furthermore, remember clearly that current understanding of the physical world is ALWAYS SUBJECT TO CHANGE. A theory, is a model which we use to describe observed behavior, a better more useful model always comes up. Once you marry any one physical model to dogma you play a very serious and dangerous game of putting an emotional component on something that must be looked at objectively.

This is dangerous both physically and spiritually. It is spiritually dangerous because seekers of the Truth will be reflexively repulsed by a dogmatic insistence on something manifestly false, such as when someone insists that physical phenomena must be described in a certain way to comport with their spiritual worldview, even when that physical phenomena clearly doesn't work the way the dogmatists insists.

It is also physically dangerous, because as we see with the evolutionists (and don't even get me started on those fanatics) they are so dedicated to imposing their religious dogmatic view onto the physical world that they get people killed with bad theories enacted in the operating room.

In short, I am reminding you to display Humility. The noble quality of a man when he shrugs and admits that he is doing the best he can with what his Creator has given him.

Metals and other things mentioned in agadata are not the actual substance but allegories. For example you cant see Sh"D by buring the placenta of a black cat born from a black cat filtering it and making eye drops(Gemara Brechot) nor can filtering out ash around your bed reveal Sh"D tracks in the morning, these are allegories. The right rav will have a minhag from his father or rav going back as to what the parable means.

The science that unites the first three fundamental forces: electro-magnetism, weak nuclear, and strong nuclear forces is not fundamentally changing again. Understanding these forces has allowed us to split the atom and to fuse the atom from one element to the other. Our knowledge of cell phones, space travel, cameras, and digital televisions comes from the fact that we understand the ins and outs of electro-magnetism. The quantum mechanical theories have undergone slight revisions over the decades, but our basic theories regulating the first three forces have not changed much in the last 50 years because, although they have been fine tuned, there is tremendous predictive value of the sciences and the engineering feats that have come out of them. They have been tested and retested, and the results are highly predictable based on the theories governing those three forces. But these forces are part of Beriat HaOlam. They did NOT exist before the Big Bang as separate forces. Gravity is the enigma. It defies being united with the other three forces by using equations in four dimensions including time. Only when one theoretically postulates ten and eleven dimensional String Theory, do we finally find that long sought unity of the four forces that Einstein sought the last 30 years of his life. This is where science does run into problem Because these Strings preceded Briat HaOlam, they cannot be tested in a laboratory. Designing an experiment to prove the validity of something that preceded time, space, and matter might stretch the apparatus called the Scientific Method. It is an awesome spectacle of the human mind that the scientific community wittingly or not and willingly or not have discovered the Mind of G-d, but it seems to have theoretically happened...whether they themselves deny it or not. What is beautiful about all this is that the Torah does not have to change a thing to fit the science. In recent decades it is the science that has careened into the Torah. It is our job to point that out to them AS WELL AS TO OURSELVES that this marvel has occurred.

Plus, I think that when the Gemorrah says that the yetzer hara for avodah zarah is trapped in a sealed lead box, it is sealed in a lead box. When it speaks of "partitions of iron" separating our prayers from the Heavenly Throne room, I have no reason to believe that the Gemorrah meant to say tin, antimony, or brass. When Daniel interpreted Nebuchadnezaar's dream, Nebuch. was 100% clear that the fourth kingdom, the one of Edom, would be a Kingdom of Iron (not lead, sodium, gold, or a one of a whole host of metals known to the ancient world)

The entire project of removing the tayvah for Avodah Zarah in the world seems to have been directed by Zecharia HaNavi as a member of the Men of the Great Assembly. It is a genuine story of what really happened at the dawn of the 2nd Temple period. Immediately after that, the logical Greeks took over the known world replacing the kingdoms of idolatry in the ancient world. As a consequence, Pure prophesy stopped too. The same channels for this avodah zarah yetzer hara and the channels for prophesy counterbalanced each other. So when one was removed, so was the other. And Zecharia HaNavi says that it was a lead box that was sealed when the tayva for avodah zarah went inside it. It was not a tin can.

Dov’s suggestions have nothing dogmatic about them. Comparing them to evolutionists or notzrim is completely off the mark.
Any working model of the universe has to have G-d’s name signed into it (“Hateva”=86= “Elokim”), even if it has been superseded by a better model. For example, according to the mekubalim, the 7 planets correspond to the 7 lower sfirot. The later discovery of 2 more planets hasn’t changed this correspondence.

What is uncanny about this discussion of Michio Kaku about the Mind of G-d is that in other videos, he specifically mentions the Greek Pythagoreans who talked about the Music of the Spheres (Sephirot in Hebrew). The Greeks of course had seven such sephirot because the Greeks were trapped by nature. So 7 was all that they could muster. They could not understand that which was transcendent to nature. So now these String Theorists have introduced at least 3 more if not 6 more dimensions, plus a dimension called the membrane dimension (for M Theory). This dimension encompasses the entire universe along with other universes. I don't know if this 11th dimension trends toward infinity. I would need to research that. But it seems that modern Physics has found a way to "break the mold" of nature as a constraint. Maybe I should link to some videos. This is pretty amazing stuff. As Jews with our faith in G-d and His Torah, we must participate in this dialogue. Our Torah is ancient. The ten sephirot are ancient in origin. If these scientists understood that they have discovered rudimentary concepts that we have known about for 3300 years, can you imagine the Kiddush HaShem and the glorification of the Torah?

Thank you Reb Dov Leib for clarifying to all about Torah vs. science. When science is not in agreement or up to par with Torah, you know science is wrong. Science is evolutionary inasmuch as it starts out with a theory and only when it has been 100% proven, can one assume it is a fact. How can any religious G-D fearing Jew even contemplate that there is any mistake or error in Torah? Torah is perfect because G-D is perfect! I have always thought this and understood this to be a fact, which, I feel it is a fact. The human being forgets he is not infinite nor all-knowing; he only knows and will know what the Almighty allows him to know.

The Zohar says that the floodgates of waters of the deep and the upper waters opened up at the same time after the year 5500. In the Fall of 5501 (1740) the Ba'al Shem Tov began to spread Chassidut in the world. At that same time there was an explosion of secular knowledge and wisdom in the world through the hard sciences. Chemistry and Physics exploded out of the box and have not stopped in their pursuit of greater and greater accuracy even until this day. Life Sciences did not begin their ascent out of medieval darkness until the 1850s because of an unfounded fear, or maybe founded fear, of treading on G-d's turf. Dr. Louis Pasteur reasoned that G-d would not hold us at fault for getting sick about burying our own children when childhood disease could be gotten rid of. So he began his life's work too. As it turns out, the greatest study of secular Chochmah revolves around better understanding the workings of the human body and finding cures for deadly diseases and deformities.

There are two ways of translating that Zohar: Either after 600 years of the 6th Millennium.... or During the 6th Century of the 6th Millennium.....

The 6th Century of the 6th Millennium began in the year 5501 (Fall of 1740). The year 5600 was the year 1840. One must be logical about this. If the guiding point is the fact that this occurs in the 6th Millennium, then the wellsprings burst open in the year 5501 since the 6th Millennium is the 5000s.

If the guide is that the Mabul came upon the world in the 600th year of Noach's life, then yes the year is the year 5600 (Fall 1839- 1840). One should remember that even though the Mabul came upon the world in the 600th year of his life, he started bearing children when he was 500 years old already preparing for the post-Mabul world at that point in time 100 years earlier.

So is the translation of that Zohar "in the 6 hundredth year", or is it "in the 6th Century" of the 6th Millennium?? The BeSh"T thought it was the latter. Of course he lived in that century too. But I don't think he would have made such an error.

The point being, notice that the word Me'ah is in the singular. In Aramaic would not there be a plural form of the word me'ah to indicate hundreds (Me'ot in Hebrew). Plus the word for years in Aramaic should be in the singular if the preceding word is part of a number greater than 10. In Hebrew sheish me'ot shanah. Here we have the equivalent of sheish me'ah shanim. Me'ah is the singular can mean Century, not just 100. You figure it out, and get back to me. But the ambiguity in the text is clear allowing for either opinion.

I think that in Aramaic, Me'ah is used for both singular and plural. I tried a computerized search for "תלת מאה" in the Talmud and came up with 26 results, for instance Nedarim 32:
השטן בחושבניה תלת מאה ושיתין וארבעה
Anyway, let's go along with the translation of Me'ah as century - according to your logic, just as the 6th millennium refers to some time during the millennium, not davka the beginning (here the zohar specifies the 6th century), so the 6th century refers to some time during the century. When? the zohar doesn't specify. Who says davka the first year of the century?

There is one basic argument against Darwin that evolutionists cannot refute. How does he explain the intricate inter-connective complexity of the human eye, the human ear, and the digestive tract. If one thing mutates all the other interconnected parts cease working. No evolution is even possible without Theistic command and control. Natural selection leads to the Doom of the species rather than its positive development since entire systems within the body of the species stop working because they depend on all the other pieces within each system to positively mutate AT THE SAME TIME! a complete impossibility. There, we just refuted Darwin in one very short paragraph.

The revolutionary insight of evolution theory is the long time scales that are involved. Ah, you say that even these long time scales weren't enough, to explain the complexity of life. Right you may be. Yet, it is an earthshaking insight that life is billions of years old, that species evolve (freely, or not freely) from other, simpler species. It was so earthshaking that the earth is still shaking. It may be G-d's turf. Certainly, many who have a claim on that turf, do not know where to hide.

Simple Madaral: Dr. Gerald Schroeder writes about all this in his book, The Science of G-d. Time was dilated since the Big Bang because of the expansion of the wavelength of the Cosmic Background radiation since the time of the Big Bang by a factor of 1 trillion. So while we have experienced approx. 16 billion years, in G-d's reference frame .016 years (5.8 24 hr. days) have passed. The first day corresponds to approx. 8 billion of our years. The 2nd day to approx. 4 billion of our years. The 3rd day to approx. 2 billion of our years. The 4th day to approx. 1 billion of our years. The 5th day to approx. 500 million of our years, and the 6th day to approx. 250 million of our years. That adds up to 15.75 billion years. Keep in mind these are approximations. During all this time the reference frame of the Creator who fills the universe with His Glory is just under 6 x 24 hour days.

Looking backwards, Day 6 goes back about 250 million years when land animals thrived in the world. Day 5 goes back between 250 million and 750 million years ago and includes the time when fish appeared suddenly in the oceans and birds appeared in the sky. Day 4 goes back to between 750 million to 1.75 billion years ago and includes the time when the presence of chlorophyll filled our atmosphere with clear oxygen so that the sun, moon, and the stars could be clearly seen through a transparent atmosphere. Day 3 takes us back from 1.75 billion years ago to 3.75 billion years ago when liquid water first appeared and vegetation first appeared on dry land and in the oceans. Day 2 takes us back between 3.75 billion to 7.75 billion of our years ago when the earth as a terrestrial body first condensed out of the 2nd generation hydrogen gas clouds that were swirling around in the disc of our galaxy. The hydrogen gas clouds are the upper waters while the condensed earth surrounded by water and steam is the lower waters. The 2nd generation gas clouds were necessary because the creation of heavier elements above iron in atomic number, fused in the core of stars, required supernova of the massive stars that formed at the formation of our galaxy to produce the heavier elements above iron. To fuse nuclei above the atomic number of iron requires a major endothermic reaction such as a supernova. The first 8 billion years takes us back to the "Let there be Light" moment when matter and electromagnetic energy decoupled from one another when the temp. of the universe cooled to allow for the binding of electrons in hydrogen atoms. continued.

The Torah uses the word "Bara" in the first chapter of Bereishit only three times. 1. with the creation of Heaven and earth including the creation of all matter, time, and 3 dimensional space.
2. for animal souls created on day 5
3. for the creation of the Neshama in Adam's body along with his animal soul 5773 of our years ago. Since there was no year 0, one must subtract off 1 from 5774.

The interesting point that Dr. Schroeder makes that he has lectured about frequently for Aish HaTorah is that the Torah uses the word bara for animals (fish and birds) created on Day 5, but it uses the word Asah for animals created on Day 6. The implication is clear that G-d made the animals on Day 6 from the animals created on Day 5! So there it is: Theistic evolution in the Torah where G-d exercises complete command and control over the process. No one has to change even one word of the Torah to see this apparent anomaly. Again though this does not apply to man's acquisition of his neshama. That was a "Bara" moment which occurred less than 6000 of our years ago. QED.

Why can't evolution exist for all lower forms of creation, while Wo/Man are in a different strata because after creating Adam and forming Chava, "HaShem "placed" man into the Garden. "Garden" being earth.

I should point out that Gan Eden refers to its time element "Garden of Epochs" Or "Garden of Ages". It is referred to as thus because HaShem created an anomaly on planet earth which tied His reference frame of the 6 x 24 hour days of creation to the reference frame of this Garden, tied fully to the reference frame of the Creator since the 3rd Day of Creation itself. As long as Adam and Chava were in the Garden, they were experiencing the flow of time as G-d who fills the universe experiences the flow of time. It was the 6th 24 hour day of Ma'aseh Bereishit. After the Cheit, both Adam and Chava were thrown out of the that time reference frame into our terrestrial reference frame where 15.75 billion years seem to have passed since the beginning of time. This is why it is a fruitless cause to try and find Gan Eden. It exists at the headwaters to the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers, but it exists in a different dimension of the flow of time. That is the mystery of the Cheruv with his ever-turning flaming sword. It is the expansion of the wavelength of the light of that sword that keeps us from terrestrially entering Gan Eden. There is no way to find the "Fountain of Youth" or Shagra-La. G-d has put up a Do Not Enter sign.

So we have a situation where plant matter in Gan Eden has been decaying since the 3rd day of Creation. In our reference frame that 3rd Day began about 3.75 billion years ago. Chlorophyll first appeared on earth about 3 billion years ago. There has been vegetation for the Plant Kingdom that long in our reference frame. The decaying plant matter from Gan Eden has been carried away by two of its rivers whose source is in Gan Eden for the last 3 billion years, the Tigris and the Euphrates. It is why over 50% of the world's known sweet oil reserves (which don't require fracking and other methods to bring up) are located along the banks and at the mouth of these two rivers whose water source is in Gan Eden.

I should point out that many doctors of Medicine have a very prejudiced view against Osteopaths who also practice medicine but from a holistic perspective, that the human body exists as an integrated unit and needs to be treated as such. The prejudice is from a deep yetzer hara that refuses to accept that the body of humans and other animals developed with the whole creature in mind, and that various body parts were formed in concert with the other body parts in far flung parts of the body. So the same "biologists" who insist on pushing Darwinian evolution and "natural selection" on us after over 140 years also deny the efficacy of Osteopathy as a form of treatment for the human body. They both seek to deny for their own reasons the Chochmah of our Creator and His creative energy and His moral code for living

Rav Dov

I can certainly attest to the efficiency of Osteopaths, who cleared up a painful shoulder complaint which conventional medicine did not, though an MRI helped locate some of the inflammation. An MRI I had at the Osteopath's insistence.

I have been told in a Shiur by Rabbi Stepsky in London that it says in the Talmud that all illnesses have a spiritual source (except for a cold which no one can figure out.)

The Osteopaths very much believed this, and looked for emotional issues to help find my cure.

Going back to steel and Barzel, I have a question.

If the physical substance of steel can block prayers (except for those made with tears), by blocking the angels that guide the prayers up to heaven, does this imply that angels have a physical mass or at least some sort of physical or measurable tangibility?

Does it imply that prayers have some sort of measurability in a form of energy/mass that conventional science has yet to calibrate?

In the case of a Jew, wouldn't osteopathy spiritually be connected to halachah and the mitzvot since the body part and sinews are connected to ase and lo ase? Doesn't that make sense too?

The Soncino translation of the Zohar is most accurate. Soncino strives for accurate translations without acting as meforshim on what the words might mean in the context that they are used. I hate to say this, but there is also an accurate translation with the original text by the Kabbalah Centre, www.zohar.com, but they don't match the text to the daf, and passages are therefore difficult to trace. Other than that I would ignore Philip Berg's online classes. The Zohar should not be taught to non-Jews even if certain aspects in kabbalah can be discussed. The fact that Madonnah was one of his top students..., well I will leave it at that. There is an obvious issue teaching kabbalah to people before they work on their character development. So if you can, stick with Soncino. They don't have an ax to grind, and they are not seeking contributions from Hollywood actors.

The Ramban (Nachmanides) refers to the original stuff of the created universe as Hiyuli. The word can be understood as a hybrid of two words: Hy and Heliu, that is right, hydrogen and helium. When matter condensed out of the Big Bang the first nuclei were about 80 to 90% hydrogen and a bit over ten percent helium. One might say that this is just a coincidence, but I don't believe in mere coincidences!. Then the Ramban makes a startling statement that the HiYULi of the physical world, Aretz, is the same as the HiYULi of the Heavenly realm, Shamayim! Well this would mean that angels are made out of the same stuff!

Our physical world that we can understand is four dimensional, but really 7 half-dimensional. Length is x and -x. Width is y and -y. Height is z and -z. Since time (t) only marches forward at relative paces depending on the gravity of the reference frame and the expansion of the wavelength of light in order to leave a surface of high gravity, t can never be negative for us created beings in both Heaven and in the physical world. So there you have it. In a Maxwellian universe (James Clerk Maxwell) describing Asiyah, the world in which we live and act, there are 7 half-dimensions to nature itself, three dimensions in which we can go backwards and forwards, to the left or to the right, and up and down. And then there is time which marches forward. In a sense that is 3 1/2 full dimensions which we say is really 4 dimensions, but it is really 7 half dimensions. Then there are those 6 additional dimensions predicted by String Theory or Kabbalah. Take your pick. These other dimensions are like an ant on a piece of string or a network of strings. Unlike the external observer, the ant can choose to walk around in circles on the string. For the ant these dimensions are real while for us they are infinitesimal. But these 6 additional dimensions do exist even if they exist like the proverbial 1000 angels on the head of a pin. It turns out there are 7 Heavens. The first Heaven really intersects with our physical world and has 7 dimensions. The 2nd Heaven has 8 dimensions while the 3rd Heaven has 9 dimensions. All the way to the 7th Heaven with 13 dimensions where only HaShem exists with His Throne of Mercy and its 13 attributes. In all the other Heavens there are angelic beings corresponding to the number of dimensions in those heavens. Keep in mind that we are treating the 3 spatial dimensions as 6 half dimensions. So we really have only 10 dimensions in the highest Heaven, but we count it as 13. The Torah does this too. On the first day of Sukkot when HaShem resides in the 7th Heaven we offer up 13 bulls. On each day of Sukkot He descends through the Heavens, and we offer up one less bull until Hoshana Rabba when He judges our physical reality. But this helps to answer the question that angels are composed of these additional dimensions beyond the 4 or 7 that we can comprehend. For angels these other dimensions are as real as north, south, east, west, up, and down are for us. This might help explain how Raphael the healing angel might be at a Brit Milah in New York while moments later will be at another Brit Milah in Bnai Brak.

Oh just as an additional salient point: This all explains why the holiest of G-d's Names is Yud Key Vav Key. It is composed of all three tenses of the verb to be in One Name. Only HaShem can be in the past, present, and future at the same instant....depending on how one defines which instant. But take any instant, only HaShem can be in all three tenses at any instant in the history or in the future of time. Angels, men, dogs, blades of grass, none of us has the potential to even dream of such a feat.

This would be opposed to another name of G-d, Elokim. Elohim is also a word for Judges and even a class of angels. Sometimes using that Name of G-d we only know if we are speaking about G-d or judges or angels by the verb that follows, whether it is singular or plural in Hebrew. But the Name Yud Key Vav Key is unique to the Creator of all. This is why Light was never really created. It was formed as we say, "Yotzer Or uBoreh Choshech".. (He formed light and created darkness..). Light without matter is Infinite. If one could travel at the speed of light, all time would pass in an instant. So traveling at that speed is impossible..unless it is light itself. So in the reference frame of a photon of light, there is no time since time itself ceases to exist at the speed of light.

I am looking at some of my old notes from an Astronomy course that I took at University of Illinois, Urbana back in the early 1980s. There are three questions that were asked by the textbook in the course which did not have a satisfactory answer. One of the questions sticks out. Why are there one billion photons of electro-magnetic radiation for every baryon (neutron or proton) in the universe?? It would seem like massive overkill. Each photon of light corresponds to a certain amount of rest mass by the famous equation of Einstein, E = m x c-squared. It turns out that there should be a balance much closer to one to one between created particles with a rest mass and created light. This is based on the assumption that light was created the same way that mass was created out of nothing. But if light is an emanation of the Infinite Creator, that would be the reason why the number of photons of light in the universe vastly outnumber the created number of protons and neutrons. Shhhhh, our secret.

Also, the 25th of Adar [of a regular year] is first day of creation according to Ribbi Yehoshua, and regarding Geula matters, we follow Ribbi Yehoshua, as we see that we count according to the Exodus which was in Nissan and in Nissan, we are to be redeemed.
And according to Ribbi Yehoshua, Nissan 5774 already starts the year 5775, which is the year of the Keitz according to the Arizal, as we mentioned.
And the Arizal expounds the verse ואת האלף, which is in this week's Perasha.
And Parshat Pekudei hints to the Pekida (remembering) of Redemption.

And this week is also Parshat Shekalim, which comes from Parshat Ki Tisa, which is a "Lifting of the heads" of Tzadikim, as is mentioned in the book "Ohev Yisrael" (Shekalim).

http://yeranenyaakov.blogspot.ca/2014/02/geula-update-from-rav-fish-pekudei-5774.html

It says in the holy Zohar, Vayera 119a, that “In the year sixty-six the Messiah will appear in the Galilee.” It was disappointing in the year 5766 when many were interpreting the year 66 to mean that year. Rav Ben Artzi just pointed out that 5774 is the 66th year since Israel was reestablished and he stated that 5708 (1948) was the end of the exile. The wording of the Zohar can very easily point to this year being the introduction of the Moshiach as Rav Ben Artzi has been alluding to, B"H.

It leads me to realize that the biggest Kidush Hashem will be when they discover that not only we've had it all along in the Torah, but that we can handle this knowledge without being harmed, while they literally go out of their minds (R' Nachman of Breslev and his Talmid R' Nosson countless times describe what happens when one tries to acquire knowledge without first purifying himself from bad midot and taavot, and without first working on Emunah).
And there's absolutely no need to send math & physics teachers into the Cheider. Adraba, added to their misery will be the burning envy of watching how he who has barely set foot outside Beis Hamedrash grasps in a few minutes what took them a lifetime to master.

Dan G, suppose it is a little different. Suppose that we will discover that we've had it all along in the Torah, but we did not realize it in the Beit MaMidrash. Suppose that those that will discover it, will be other than the typical Yeshiva man. Suppose that the world of the Beit Midrash will at first fight what we will discover from Torah, and only later accept, from their brothers, which they first saw as Erev Rav. Will the Kiddush HaShem be any less?

There is a lot to respond to here, but a short note. There are two very important reasons why the Chareidi world should master mathematics and the hard sciences even if the Torah learning itself gives them insight into the "final result".

1. for parnassah: Not everyone can learn full time. Not everyone is a Matmid. Most people have to make a living. Technology and Engineering are fields in high demand with good salaries. Learning science and technology opens one up for job opportunities so that those who cannot learn full time can at least support those who do.

2. We are a nation of Kohanim. Being a Kohen has a two-fold role. First we serve HaShem with mitzvot that are unique for the Jewish people: Shabbat, Lulav and Etrog, etc. By doing these things we serve HaShem in an "inner sanctuary" which gentiles are not obligated in and in many cases are simply not part of like with Shabbat. A non-Jew is not allowed to observe Shabbat or to affix a mezuzah like a Jew does. Yet, being a Kohen is also to "minister" to the needs of the non-Jewish world by teaching them the confluence that exists between the Torah and science to greatly magnify and sanctify the word of G-d. In order to teach them this, we need to speak the common language of science, math, and technology. We can't just speak the language of the Talmud to the non-Jewish world. In the Messianic Era this will become clear how necessary it is to teach them about this so that they will accept His moral code and not just His scientific laws. more later.

Now a bit of a personal story to illustrate a point about hoiistic medicine in the Torah. Years ago I suffered from the cholinergic effects of a prescription drug that I was taking. The inter-connective tissue in my body which binds all the muscles in my body was twisted into knots below my neck leading to a full body subluxation below my neck, that I suffered from for many years. I am still somewhat suffering from this condition, 26 years after the fact. For about five years I spent 75% of my life on my back with daily chiropractic and osteopathic manipulations. For another five years I was better but still in a lot of pain, muscle weakness, and discomfort. Around 1997, or maybe 1996, I went to an Aish HaTorah auction in St. Louis that they had every year for Chanukah. At this auction companies and individuals offer services for free that auctioneers bid on with written bids with the proceeds going to Aish HaTorah's outreach programs in the St. Louis Area. There is/was a chiropractor in town named Dr. David Rozeboom who decided to offer free chiropractic visits in the auction. He offered a more natural approach to chiropractic care that I had not yet seen, and by this time I had seen a lot from both osteopaths and chiropractors. So I bid on every single one of his visits, hoping to win the best deal. Apparently there was not much interest at the auction for these visits. So I won every single one of them at a reduced price. I went to his office, and I recognized the difference between him and the other doctors that I had previously seen even though a couple of the osteopaths that I had seen previously had helped partially with my lengthy healing process. He recognized the fascial dysfunction in my body and that the issue could not be solved by skeletal and spinal manipulation alone. He introduced me to his partner Dr. Yao from China who shared space in his office. Dr. Yao was heading on 80 years old and was a survivor of Chairman Mao's Cultural Revolution where he had been beaten to a pulp in one of Chairman Mao's re-education camps. Dr. Yao refused to be re-educated and is a survivor of Chairman Mao's Holocaust. He was a neighbor of mine in University City, and I did not even know it until then. From the age of 6 until his early 20s he trained to be a Chi Gung doctor. By the age of 20 or 21 he was already a Chi Gung (Qigong) master. In all of my treatments with Dr. Yao, I lay there pretty passively on a table as he did his thing. If I told you what his thing was, half of you would not believe me. So I will spare you the details. I noticed the results of his therapies almost immediately, and I was now healing like I had never healed for the previous eight years of gut-wrenching pain. I thank G-d for my encounter with Dr. Yao and how it came as a direct result of my participation in giving Tzedakah to Aish HaTorah through their annual Chanukah auction. I noticed a chart that Dr. Yao had on the wall. It was a chart of the 12 meridians which channel Chi, the lifeforce (sounds like Chai eh?), through the body and the various acupressure/ Acupuncture points in the hands and feet. Each of the meridians was centered around one of 12 organs in the human body. After several months, Shabbat Parshat Nasso was coming around, and I started to learn the parsha. continued.......

I have several meforshim along with an old Hertz Chumash. Rav Yosef Herman Hertz zt"l was the Chief Rabbi of the United Kingdom through both WW1 and WW2. In Parshat Nasso when the korbanot of the 12 princes are added up, he has a fascinating commentary of the various combined objects and korbanot that were given to the Mishkan. In discussing the 12 golden ladles each weighing ten shekels, he notes that the total weight was 120 shekels, the lifespan of Moshe Rabbeinu and all men/ women after the lifetime of Moshe Rabbeinu was complete. May you remain healthy to Mea veEsrim! we often bless people who are in their 60s to remind them that they could live and be healthy another 60 years. In discussing the golden spoons, he suddenly introduces that there were 12 spoons because there are 12 organs that direct the lifeforce of Man. He then lists them: the heart, the kidneys, the mouth, the palate, the windpipe, the esophagus, the lungs, the liver, the spleen, the crop, and the stomach. Yes, one is missing, and I don't know why. But suddenly I remembered Dr. Yao/ Rozeboom's chart of the meridians. Nine of the meridians on the chart were identical to the peirush on the lifeforce of 120 shekels of golden ladles. I showed the peirush to Dr. Rozeboom, and he smiled and wondered why two were not the same. I told him that the Torah was the correct source, and over the last 5000 years of history, error has entered into Eastern medicine. He laughed.

Just love your blog. Yes, that's what I wanted to emphasize is that everything, literally, everything is in the Torah. It is perfection because H' wrote the Torah and HE is perfect! When I sometimes read or meet people of science who want to refute things about the Torah because their science does not yet know of it, it irks me to no end. If one is an observant Jew but yet does not understand that much, as to know that Torah is everything, then what has he learned? This person obviously just knows the basics and cannot fathom the knowledge and kedushah that our great Sages had in their little finger with knowledge of Torah and knew, and many today know better than he. Thank you for your wisdom. Only when science agrees with Torah is it pure truth.

On the issue of the value of Pi, the Vilna Gaon did a text comparison: In describing the kiyor, the copper sea where the Kohanim washed their hands and feet, this is what appears in Melachim Aleph (Kings I 7:23)

23 And he made the molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and the height thereof was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

Yet, in Chronicles II (Divrei HaYamim Bet 4:2) it says about the same copper sea:

ב וַיַּעַשׂ אֶת-הַיָּם, מוּצָק: עֶשֶׂר בָּאַמָּה מִשְּׂפָתוֹ אֶל-שְׂפָתוֹ עָגוֹל סָבִיב, וְחָמֵשׁ בָּאַמָּה קוֹמָתוֹ, וְקָו שְׁלֹשִׁים בָּאַמָּה, יָסֹב אֹתוֹ סָבִיב. 2 Also he made the molten sea of ten cubits from brim to brim, round in compass, and the height thereof was five cubits; and a line of thirty cubits did compass it round about.

Compare the texts and what do we find. back in an hour. Keep in mind that the Vilna Gaon would have frowned at a circular sea being 30 Amot in circumference and 10 Amot in diameter. The ratio of C to d is more than 3. It is 3.14159... back in a bit....

I should have mentioned that in honor of the parshiyot of actually building the Mishkan and because we have an Adar Rishon this year, this pasuk in First Kings is read as part of the haftarah in last week's parsha in Sephardic synagogues. So Sephardim will find this pasuk very familiar because they just read it last Shabbat. In regular years with only one Adar VaYakhel/ Pekudei is read with the haftarah for either the Red Cow or for Rosh Chodesh Nisan, called Parshat HaChodesh. But in leap years like this one, we can all learn about Pi.

Notice that the word for Circumference used here is Kav, but in First Kings it is spelled with a silent Hey as a suffix. It is NOT spelled that way in Second Chronicles with that silent Hey (no silent Hey in 2nd Chronicles). The rest of the wording for the pasuk is identical. What might the scribe for both sefarim be trying to convey??

The Vilna Gaon in order to distract his mind from Torah while sitting on the Beit HaKisei wrote a Calculus textbook over the years while siting in the bathroom. These are the things he thought about after he washed his hands the other 23 1/2 hours of the day.

2/27/2014 11:33 PM
Blogger Dov Bar-Leib said...

Ok, I realize this is less than an hour, but you can look at the answer here at your leisure. The word Kav is spelled Qoof Vav and has a gematriah of 106. Spelled with a silent Hey, the gematriah is 111.

The Vilna Gaon would look at the ratio 30 to 10 and cringe. So he would be looking for a correction factor to get to Pi. So he takes the ratio of 111 over 106 and gets 1.04717 and then multiplies it by 3 and gets 3.1415 which is very close to 3.1416 which is Pi to four decimal places. Then he could smile and sleep one half hour for a good nights sleep before starting a new day learning more Torah and answering profound questions. Shabbat Shalom.

UN commission says Israel is THE major problem in the Arab world. Yes, really.
The UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) just unveiled a report called "Arab Integration: A 21st Century Development Imperative." The report is book-length, 324 pages long.

It took two years and dozens of authors to write this.

The Foreword says:
There is general agreement that the current state of the Arab world warrants serious concern. Observers concur that the Arab countries appear to be at a development impasse, evidenced by persisting knowledge gaps, fragile economies and the prevalence of human injustice. But when it comes to the reasons for the status quo, or what it will take to change it, agreement gives way to heated debate.

This report, entitled “Arab Integration: A 21st Century Development Imperative”, suggests an alternative to the present predicament.

This posting by Reb Dov is all I ever expected from metaphysics. And even more, i.e. to the extend that I do not even fully comprehend it. But if other kabalists don't say it is trash, I wish to accept it as valuable or even the truth, since my knowledge is only basic, and i can't really tell. So that is my 'believe system'. Of course it also means I will have to study some more but am on the right track.
The content reminds me of alchemy. You know some gentiles are interested in these kind of things too, and why shouldn't they? So that is where i was coming from amongst other spiritual voyages through - in the old days - books. Alchemy is probably an echo of the real thing, and we know who the source is of every real (and unreal?) thing: the tetragrammaton. Now, an issue of things being meant hermetic always comes into play. Weather it was Pharaoh not wanting the masses to know the secret knowledge, or 'magicians' being careful of giving stuff away to the wrong people i.e. the notorious concept of the sorcerer's apprentice, or they were weary of the inquisition. So, Zohar not being meant for non Jewish folks that does not shock me at all. Reasons are similar but more pure. Glad I don't study that although i do read about it when you guys put bits and peaces on the net in plain English for free. Let's hope that is not any body's stumbling block here or in the Heavens. Did meet some guys once who were scanning over zohar they said for spiritual benefit. They weren't Jewish. I said that it is complicated and you have to be a wise and balanced person for Zohar. Strange thing was that in the same week or even next day i read at mystical paths a brief part about people scanning Zohar. That kind of thing happens to me a lot. Anyway.
Alchemists love gold. They where always looking for it although probably it was meant as a allegorical riddle. The gold was the true essence in the heart waiting to be found. Indeed the attributes of lead are well known as a heavy metal. Quicksilver always fascinated them. And of course salt. Many, many things can be said. There is a thing called the bronze age for example. I like to think it helps if one has a lost and found spark somewhere in order to be drawn away from goyische riddles towards the real thing. Don't the Jewish folks have to have an iron will in order to make the third temple possible? If i remember correctly i saw that in a shiur some years ago from this same Rabbi Jacobsen who did the snare theory shiur. And the basement of the temple will be iron.(?) Makes me think that that blocks the energy to gehinom. But if i talk nonsense please excuse me. At inner.org one can read about the amount of words in the first Alina of Genesis and how that relates to chemistry proper. i.e. the numeric system of elements. Can do nice at birthday parties not so small talk with that. (Any Darwinists present?)
That is about as far as i got. Oh ya, and Abraham has something to do with boro as well. But this is not meant as an exhibit of my knowledge (irrelevant). Just some feedback.
Do you think Dov that the Ukraine saga has anything to do with your 72 hour after holocaust calculation? They have 'bad karma'.
- appreciate it, bye !

Two months after the Yud Key Vav prisoner release of 26 murderers, we might be seeing the manifestation of the Vav in HaShem's Name in time for Purim. He put the Sheish (the Vav) in Shushan. The Sheish in Shushan is the Vav in His Name. And the Ukrainians likely have the highest percentage of Amaleqites in the world for this occasion. If this explodes into a world wide event, everything Amaleq will suffer from this...including the dollar which has the same gematriah as Amaleq, 240.

One quick clarification: Dr. Yao did NOT mumble any mantras while treating me. So there was no avodah zarah involved in what he does, even if he often treated me by concentrating on my skull which was the focal point of my injuries. My wife watched him once treat me. She says he stood there concentrating on my skull for at least ten minutes without uttering a word. Of course he did a lot more than that including acupressure on my feet and hands. He was the most effective of all my doctors.

Sorry, I have been remiss. A very important story got in under my radar. When I was last looking, Netanyahu had promised that no Torah scholars would go to jail for avoiding the draft. I should have known that he would cave on that too. And it slipped under my radar. So now he has set us up for major violence...even if jail terms won't begin until 2017...after Mashiach is already here. Jail terms for those who learn Torah full time is Evil. Taking away funding is one thing, but threatening jail will lead to major rioting. I think I am staying away from Yerushalayim after noon tomorrow. I will be taking my son out of school. It is Rosh Chodesh anyway. I just found out that as of Feb 19th, Netanyahu caved to Yeish Atid on the Shaked committee and ordered that Likud MKs side with Yeish Atid. He could have easily kept his word, but he did not. It would be ironic if WW3 in the Crimea saves us from our own Civil War here. All I can say about this development is OY!

Blogger Dov Bar-Leib said...

What bothers me most is that Shas was there in the Committee, and it seems that they stormed out of the meetings after Bibi caved. In the previous Shmittah cycle the Ashkenazi Chareidi political party was silent during the year leading up to the Disengagement. completely silent to the point of shunning all rallies even at the Kotel to stop the Disengagement. Now there is a rally tomorrow which could turn into rioting, but we can't afford to be silent just like they were silent back in 5765. Plus Shas was against the Disengagement. Yet, UTJ by joining Sharon delayed the Geulah by a full Shmittah cycle. It was the 7 years of Gog ben Gog, and now we have this. Eliyahu HaNavi coming this Spring could not be at a more needed time.

I must admit, threatening jail terms for Torah learners, has complicated everything. What a mess. As I said WW3 in the Crimea could save us from our own Civil War. Don't worry though. The disintegration of the secular state will come in time for judgement on the nations of the world in 5775, the Shmittah year, and the establishment of the Messianic kingdom in 5776. Feiglin is right. The secular medinah is deconstructing. It is all part of the process. I just pray that no one gets killed in Yerushalayim tomorrow afternoon.

What is needed is the DESTRUCTION of this amalekite gov, and replacement with a Torah Government. And then they SHOULD defend the people. They have the obligation.

Destroy them all these koyfrim, destroy the israeli police, the israel supreme court, or at least the illuminati court with a pyramid and an allseeing eye that thinks of itself as supreme. Throw Livni in jail, hang Shimon on Purim, exile Bibi.

I am sorry to see how virulent the posts are becoming - Jew against Jew. I think Moshe Feiglin is right. Not all Haredim can be torah scholars/learners. It has become a habit and not a truth when men sit all day who are mediocre in their torah learning - to earn a stipend. Giving essentially welfare for generations destroys ones character when they can be doing something that builds their character.

On the issue of destroying character with generations of welfare, there is a difference with the state withdrawing stipends and arresting people who learn full time even if they don't get that stipend. Throwing Matmidim into jail for not going into the Army is wickedly evil. If one wants to withdraw financial support, that is one thing. Threatening Torah scholars with jail time for pursuing the Torah is something else. One would hope that we could find a happy medium. I am not sure that is possible without Eliyahu HaNavi stepping in. just another reason why he needs to come now.

A friend of mine makes valid points that Lapid's Reform Jewish agenda reminds him of Antiochus. Reform Jews, if they really believed in G-d, would understand that G-d's agenda is NOT their agenda. He does not stick His finger in the wind and change His definition of Good and Evil four times every century. We really need miraculous intervention to begin the process of wising up to G-d's Majesty and His Will. Without it, the Reform movement will continue to belittle G-d's omnipotence and His benevolent dictatorship. The audacity to think, for instance, that homosexual marriage is a human rights issue comes from belittling His Omnipotence and His Will.

You suggest that maybe the Ukrainian unrest is part of the effect of the third release of the prisoners?

After a previous prisoner release you suggested that the Kenyan Mall massacre was linked.

I suggest that we have seen effects of the third prisoner release already, and the Ukrainian unrest is a further effect.

We have also had two massacres of people in Nigeria, carried out by the Muslim terrorist group Boko Haram.
11 February about 39 people killed in the town of Konduga
25 February 59 students killed in a school in Yobe.

We had a knife massacre yesterday in China, roughly 39 dead.

We have also had the Muslim vs Notzrim fighting in the Central African Republic, several hundred dead.

Further to your writings on national flags and how their colours affect national character, here is a link to the flag of the Central African Republic.
What a jumbled chaotic flag!

Anyone who thinks heradim live off of welfare should know a family with ten children will take in about $200/month in subsidies called havtica hacnasa. If anything this small subsidy leverages this scholar to fundraise about $2000-$3000 minimum from family or donors Ch"L for the Israeli economy vs moving to England or the US where there is actual welfare available to unemployed people even those learning.
A larger problem is the radical social inequity in heradi society where the wealthy few with good yichus inform the rabanim who visit their mansions on how to rule as they open their checkbooks and the poor others are expected to subsidize each other while they beg for scraps from the ruling wealthy.
If you look closely most of the hiddur mitzvot in heradi society can be purchased with cash, those that can't, such as mitzvot haeretz or ben adom lchevero are far less stressed in my life in heradi society.
Heradi society perpetuates the abuse of the poor by the wealthy which was accepted in old Europe.

Kaparat pesha is to forgive sins that were committed maliciously. It can only happen on Rosh Chodesh from Cheshvan until Adar Sheini in a 13 month year. It is one of HaShem's 13 attributes that is added to Rosh Chodesh davening from Cheshvan to Adar Sheini only in 13 month years. The only other time He forgives sins that were committed maliciously or with reckless disregard for the Truth is on Yom Kippur in any year. Seek forgiveness from those whom you have hurt in that way, and then come to Rosh Chodesh davening prepared for Musaph Rosh Chodesh Adar Sheini. Make it count!

He, whether it is Herzog or Peres, see an alliance with Chareidim as an opportunity to control them to evict other Jews because they, the Labor leaders, have he power of the purse to fund the Chareidi way of life in exchange for loyalty in expelling Jews from their homes. Please be wary of this charade. It is a technique that Shimon Peres perfected and which all Labor leaders after Peres have utilized. i dont think its right for us to call any torah student mediocre. there have been many stories on how mediocre students became great gaons, witht he right encoruagement. small business or loans according to the halacha could be given to torah students to do some form of work in accordance to their time and capacity. such loans have been given in our part of the world, and some people have even done business at home, like making fritters, or packaging , computer repairs or programming, accounts (from home itself)or a small office, etc, and this has brought great relief to people and the gov and also some taxes for them. so much money is given to the palest.... why not to the jews themselves. one of my rabbis told me that joining the army is opening them at a young age to secularism. and that the promises made were not kept. while there is some protection to those attached to the nahal.... the left actually dont want the young hareidim there, for fear that the secular will become more religious. this is seriously politics, nothing more than that. this is what i have been told and it does appear to be so.

Reb Dov,
Isn't it clear that in accordance with our paradigm that it is the final years, and also in accordance with your 72minutes/years past holocaust calculation. And as a convergence of subject threads within the small time frame as such. And also in accordance with the well known law that HaShem punishes the fourth generation if they persist in their evil ways. Isn't it clear than that HaShem now punishes the Ukrainians. Not only a new holocaust is prevented, but the evil ones planing this will be destroyed. The one logically follows the other. Only punishing is not enough this last time around. And not punished they are a danger. So this is the convergence of your threads (?)
BTW: I know that by reading books one does not become an alchemist, Buddhist, or Jew. There is an oral tradition. One has to do, feel, hear, see, etc for that.
Speaking of esoterica: a question on holistic healing;
Can it be that the different metal Tibetan singing bowls - and i am no fan of Tibetan lama's at all, since they have been to well connected for many decades to all kinds of various and dubious people around the globe, and some of their practises and rituals aren't so kosher at all, to the contrary. But can these bowls that presumably produces healing sounds be any good. They correspond to the planets. The sun - heart chakra- would be gold. The moon stand for silver. Mercury is mercury. Let's say a Noahide with a lot of Venus in the birth mazal. He has issues with that. Free will to an extend was gained as a Noahide but he is still struggling. He became sick this way. Would there be a possibility that these healing waves affect the human molecules involved in a good way? Of course the soul would want to be healed, and the I needs to improve even more the behaviour.
I know these Chinese doctors look to the tongue as a sign to see the water mineral/salt balance.
Shalom!

Chizkiyahu HaMelekh hid an entire book on healing with exact cures for exact sicknesses called Sefer Refu'ot. He did it because he sensed correctly that people were not suffering for their sins in this world enough in order to guarantee their place in the World to Come. So Chizkiyahu hid the book. Yet, apparently the same book ended up in the hands of the B'nai Qeturah for good and for ill. Also since it was originally given to Noach by the Angel Rapha'el, other nations still have its wisdom too. It can be easily surmised that the Chinese benefit from this wisdom too. I won't guess what all that wisdom is because Chizkiyahu HaMelekh has already hidden the book.

One of my joys from living in NYC was browsing the isles of The Strand Bookstore and I found some gems in the Judaica section. One title is The Kabbalah A Study of the Ten Luminous Emanations From Rabbi Isaac Luria

The Preface written by Dr. Philip S. Gruberger contains excellent insight to the Zohar
The book was printed in 1973, you'll get the time stamp.

Clip:

We are presently witnessing a great deal of interest in the Far Eastern philosophies and cults, indicating an upsurge in the search for spiritual development and attainment. A great deal of energy has been spent to determine the origin of the Far Eastern philosophies. The Zohar anticipating this question answers it as follows: Genesis, Chapter 25:6 “But unto the sons of the concubines which Abraham had, Abraham gave gifts; and he sent them away from Isaac his son, while he yet lived, eastward, unto the east country.”

The Zohar questions the meaning of the word gifts, and replies as follows; “The word 'gifts' refers to the stages of spirituality which do not include the 'emendations' and subsequently these people (sons of the concubines) moved eastward to what is known as the Far East. Hence the word eastward to the BeNI KeDeM people of the Far East.”

End.

Now I'm quite sure some of these 'gifts' would include disciplines such as yoga and Tai Chi so I would hesitate to call Abraham's gifts not kosher which unfortunately I've seen some people do. Just another form of control.

And the rest of the book is well...

Chapter 10 Binding By Striking

Explaining: The matter of Binding by Striking which includes two powers: drawing and pushing, both operative at the same time. On operates in the impurity and the other in the hardness of the Curtain.

***
Here Rabbi Isaac Luria is describing gravity and electromagnetism! And he way preceded Maxwell and Newton!

The sons of the concubine are the B'nei Qeturah, the sons of Qeturah whom Avraham sent to the East, yes, with books about refuah and with books of magic. Avraham had two concubines, Hagar the mother of Yishmael and Qeturah who fathered many children. Rashi says they are one and the same. Others disagree. We know that Yishmael went into Paran, south of Eretz Yisrael in Saudi Arabia, I believe. Some say it is a stone's throw away in Sharm El Sheikh. Either way it is south, not east. So the only sons of concubines sent eastward were Bnai Qeturah.

The children of Avraham from Qeturah who were sent to the east were Zimran, Yakshan, M'dan, Midian, Yishbaq, and Shu'ach. And Yakshan bore Sh'va and Dedan. Dedan had many, many children himself including a nation named "Nations". Midian bore Eiphah, Eipher, Chanoch, Avida, and Elda'ah. That's lots of kids and grandkids. It is difficult to trace who is who with that list. One thing we know for sure: The priestly caste in Hinduism is called the Brahamin caste. That would be the Avrahamic caste. And of course Yisro, Moshe's father-in-law was a priest of Midian.

G-d has a special place in His Heart for Malshinim, public slanderers of the Jewish People and Our Mission in the World. They are at the top of the list of cursed people. Unlike our garden variety resha'im whose wickedness is cursed, our Malshinim are cursed themselves personally, not just their wickedness. So years ago I had a list of Malshinim. At the top of my list was a columnist named Anthony Lewis. Thomas Friedman, both yemach shmo, was number two. Friedman is now number one. I think that Anthony Lewis, yemach shmo, is dead. Baruch HaShem. So I need two more people to complete my list. They have to be especially egregious reshayim who volunteer to undermine Israel's mission in the world as guns for hire by the Devil's Disciple himself. The not so confident Israeli PM needs a push in the direction of seeking the world's love. G-d forbid we should be isolated. Horror of horrors that we should not be popular. So he needs a push. He boards his plane in Israel for America to meet the Devil's Disciple. And the hired guns from the Erev Rav write a puff piece where the POS POTUS warns of the horrors of worldwide isolation of Israel with a salivating Erev rav reporter deliciously recording his every word to be used against the frightened of isolation PM upon his arrival in the USSA. One needs a wicked self-hating crew of hired guns. So did I officially add Jeffrey Goldberg and his billionaire boss, Mickey Bloomberg to the top of the list, just below Thomas Friedman. 3 times a day, 6 days per week not including Yom Tov or Shabbat, you can do a mitzvah by cursing our most egregious malshinim.

Dov, I am wondering if Christiane Amanpour would be another name to add the your list of reshayim? This is a woman who went out of her way to go and cry as Arafat's decrepit body was being air lifted via helicopter to where ever they were taking him to. She was crying crocodile tears that this was...sob sob probably going to be the last time she would...sob, sob, see him...sob sob..
The woman is so openly antisemitic.
Oh, and yes, you dotted your i's and crossed your t's. ;)

To officially be a Malshin, Leah, one must be a Jew from the Erev Rav. Malshin is usually translated as informers because informers have inside information because they are Jews. They then pervert the inside info. for their own self-aggrandizement amongst the non-Jewish world. The classic Malshin of the Middle Ages was Nicholas Donin who prosecuted against the Talmud in France in front of St. Louie IXth. Bloomberg is worse than Donin because he would put 6 million Jews in imminent danger in Israel for another billion dollars in blood money for his on-line magazines. I think he owns Business-Week. So there is one magazine that we can avoid buying.

These are two of the Blood Moons spoken about in Sefer Yo'el. But you are right about one thing. They are not preceded by solar eclipses where the sun turns dark first. Those eclipses both solar and lunar for Nisan 5775 and Tishrei 5776 are next year.

"The sun will turn into darkness and the moon into blood before the Great and Awesome Day of the L-rd."

It is possible that the sun will turn dark in another way before the Blood Moons this year.

If memory serves - A malshin is probably more like Ehud Barak when he kept going to the White House to report directly to US Pres. Bush before the Gerush in 2005.

But usually, as I understand them, malshinim are relative small fry reporting on the community to the government. Like Bar Kamtza reporting to the Romans before the big Gerush almost 2000 years ago. He was known as an informer even before he attended the wedding he got kicked out of, that we keep hearing about when 9 Av is just around the corner. I forget where the reference is - but it says that we got the Romans because we were too kind to kill Bar Kamtza before he ratted on us. The wedding fiasco was just an excuse.

Am I even close?

To Anon 3/04/2014 9:04 PM,

My term "small fry" (actually, "relative small fry") has nothing to do with how evil they were, only with the position they hold in the world, even down to the community level. Any importance they got was directly due to their ratting on, harassing, and endangering the lives of, fellow Jews. It would seem that how much damage they are doing depends more on to whom they are reporting than on how important their position is.

Compared to George Soros, ym"sh and certain others mentioned in other comments above, they were all small fry. Actually, Soros did start out as one - a small-fry informer in the literal sense, reporting directly to the Nazis.

There. Does that help?

Yes, CDG is correct about the Bar Kamtza episode. He was an informer and that is why he was disinvited because they feared that he wanted to be there to mingle and find out information that he would overhear. The excuse made for his being disinvited and thrown out was probably an example that the rabbis used for not to shame someone in public. But that was not the real reason for him being thrown out which just shows that being kind to the cruel never works. From this story, he seems to be the epitome of a malshin.

CDG: When mentioning the Press Corps, I was speaking about some form of Malshinut that did not really exist before the 15th Century. The printing press allows for mass dispersal of lashon hara and Motzie Shem Ra in a way that did not exist before. Before there was a printing press, books were published one book at a time. There were no mass distributions to the general public of polemics and diatribes in written form. So being a Malshin often only entailed having the ear of the king or the Catholic priest. With a printing press, mass distribution of libel and gossip is made possible. When the prayer against Malshinim was first instituted 2000 years ago, the author of the prayer obviously did not have printing presses in mind. But mass distribution of information is definitely a more insidious form of Malshinut that did not exist 2000 years ago.

Speaking of malshinim, here's an example from Eish-Kodesh, as written in A-7:

Shin Bet Causing Internal Conflict in Jewish Outpost?

It would seem there's at least one in every town and village in Yo"sh, which would explain why Jewish residents seem unable to react appropriately to crime and warfare against them (and why we need organizations like Honenu to defend people who are eminently defensible yet are jailed and otherwise punished - who would not need legal assistance in any other context).

If only these malshinim could be identify and thrown out, that would be the beginning of victory.

They can't even be informed by the Ashkenazi Chareidi Gadol HaDor, Rav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita that Jews should leave as all hell breaks loose in the Ukraine. On Monday he told the kiruv workers in the Ukraine to make Aliyah for that reason. On Tuesday his askanim made sure that the Rav did not say that the previous day. It is frustrating to inform anyone of anything in America when what their Gedolim say or have said changes from day to day. On one day he said it, but the next day his askanim say that he said something else the previous day. Even I am confused.

Reb Dov, yes, you and I both know. It's very frustrating. People must pray on their decision, make up their own minds (clarify for themselves) and do what they have to. What happened to those who wanted to leave before the Shoah. but their rabbis said stay put?

This is why my husband and I TOLD our rabbis we were making aliyah, not ASKED them whether we should. Jaws dropped, but they ended up blessing us and we are still happily here, B"H.

Can I ask what private company does Visas? I thought that all Visas had to be done at the Consulate. Yet, to come to Israel on a tourist Visa, all one needs is a passport. Once you get here, file Aliyah papers so that you can remain beyond the 3 month limit on tourists. Sorry, if the Consulates are still on strike, there are no free Aliyah flights until that strike is over....if it ever ends before the dollar collapses. Israeli Consulates on strike for a year. That is bizarre.

Now that the dollar is falling significantly below 3.5, it would be preferable for it to just crash below 3.0 or even better below 2.7. They would be too pre-occupied with a currency crisis in order to spend much time making parts of Judea Judenrein.

Just reviewed the Vilna Ga'on's drashah on Chad Gadya for the Pesach Seder. The water which quenches the fire was the Men of the Great Assembly imprisoning the "fire" of idolatry in the world. The ox that drank the water was the Roman Empire destroying the 2nd Temple and dispersing Judea after the crushing of the Bar Kochba revolt. The Shochet that slaughters the ox is Mashiach ben Ephraim who slaughters the sheker of Western Civilization which is twofold 1. to serve G-d to make money instead of the converse 2. That G-d thinks that our deeds and our mitzvot are dirty rags. That would be Yehonatan who could have done that. Then the Angel of Death kills the Shochet (Mashiach ben Ephraim) in Adar before Pesach. Then and only then is HaShem's Name complete in the world to slaughter the Angel of Death by Pesach. nuff said. How can we transform our dirty rags and deeds into pure white ones?

3/06/2014 10:25 PM
Blogger Dov Bar-Leib said...

You turn your dirty rags into white ones by making the best choice given your extenuating circumstances. If your choice is between two dark shades of gray, choose the lightest shade of gray. One needs a halakhic approach in order to do this. The halakhic approach takes into account our extenuating circumstances before saying "Thou shalt not" on certain activity. So in 95% of circumstances you cannot steal, but if you are running away from Nazis and starving to death, stealing is permitted and you have a heter to steal. One needs a halakhic approach to know that there are heterims for the Thou shalt nots and one is patur from the Thou shalts dependent on one's extenuating circumstances. For instance a quadriplegic is "patur" from the mitzvah of putting on Tefillin.

The Western, Xtian view especially in Europe is to think that if a person must steal to survive when running away from Nazis, That person is condemned to Hell and needs Yoshke to redeem him. This belief system is destructive to developing a moral approach based on what is possible and not on the ideal conditions of Gan Eden.

"Al Cheyt (על חטא, "for the sin"), which is a set of 26 double acrostics, also arranged according to the aleph-bet, enumerating a range of sins. It is notable that during the public recitation of Ashamnu together with the cantor, the entire congregation sings these words to a tune, representing the joy of being cleansed from one's sins."
