The Prime Minister Becomes a Man

It is a day of great simcha amongst the nation of Am Yisrael.  Our PM Binyamin Netanyahu, the gilgul or bechinah of Shaul HaMelekh just became a man tonight.  G-d help us that it will last and that he won't wimp out when the entire world comes against us.  He will need much emunah and bitachon that HaShem will redeem us from the wicked world.  Over 13 years after the beginning of the Al Aksa Intifada, the Prime Minister of Israel just declared our independence from the rest of the world and their freaking opinion.  Here is the latest Bar Ilan speech in the form of a story on Arutz 7:  PM becomes a Man and not simply the face of a dog.  Mark this day on your calendar as a day of remembrance:  3rd of MarCheshvan 5774.  It is a day of our independence from the false and evil beliefs of this world of lies.  It is a day where our elected leader decided that it no longer mattered what the opinion of Mankind was or even what the opinion of the American President is.  Holy, holy, holy is the L-rd of Hosts, the entire world is filled with his Glory.  What a great day for Klal Yisrael.  And for yours truly after ten years of living under the oppression of leadership that was in constant fear of world public opinion and other related decrepit gods, I can go to bed with a big smile on my face for crossing a Rubicon or better yet a Gichon Spring of sorts.  May we never look back to these lowly days of worshiping this ugly avodah zarah.  Dear L-rd, I pray that I have not spoken too soon.  Amein.

Dear Bibi:

Yes the truth is simple. You are on the right track. Keep telling the truth and preparing the nation for what is inevitable.Uproot the weeds and G-d will bless you 100 times over for finally being the Jewish leader everyone NEEDS you to be..

Yes, the Truth being simple is something new for Bibi. His mind has been so twisted by CFR sheker and the ins and outs of survival through sheker in a world of sheker is how he was trained to deal with this world of lies. In the end it fails because the wicked will use the lies to back you into a corner. So now G-d Himself has backed him into a corner by exposing the fallacy that we were ever part of the Western World, the world of Edom. Ya'akov's voice only wins when his voice is the voice of Truth when his tiffereth, his charisma, expresses NO falsehood.

In the meantime please pray for the recovery of two men.

Rav Ovadia Yosef Shlita and Rav Dr. Marvin Antelman. Rav Yosef is back on a respirator and Dr. Antelman had a massive heart attack and only has use of 20% of hie heart.

Dr. Antelman is Rav Moshe Shlomo ben Chana, and Rav Yosef is Maran Harav Hayim Ovadia Yosef ben Georgia. The name Chaim has been added to his name because of his deteriorating condition.

The bloodshed in Mitzraim has now reached 50 for yesterday alone. They were celebrating their "victory" over Israel in the Yom Kippur War. Yet, the Muslim Brotherhood had a different way that they wanted to celebrate that "victory". So now 50 of them are dead. The year of Dam (blood) has just begun. If the PM of Israel can remain a man rather than a scared shadow with the face of a dog, then this year looks promising indeed. G-d will see to it that the plague of Blood is only on our enemies. The 7th year 5775 should be the Plague of Fire. Notice in the Hoshana Rabba circuits (hakafot), the 7th hakafah is all about fire. The 6th hakafah is about extracting what is pure from a morass of impurity. With further explanation to follow the plague for the 6th year will be that our enemies will be waist deep in the blood that they wish upon us, and the plague of the 7th year will be Fire. The Date Palms of Smoke may follow if Persia gets a nuclear bomb. Perhaps G-d will have mercy and count Hiroshima and Nagasaki as enough Date Palms of Smoke. Unlike Blood and Fire, the residue of Date Palms of Smoke can pollute the earth radioactively for hundreds of years.

It is with heavy heart that I write this comment.

I recently posted that the Simon Schama documentary "The Story of the Jews", on BBC1, was worth watching.

I remain convinced it was visually excellent.

But after watching all five episodes, I urge caution.

One criticism is what is omitted, the series is much more a social history than a religious one.

My main criticisim though is that the last episode presents a dark and oppressive view of Israel. For Schama, a British Jew, the early 1960's Labour Zionist dominated Israel remains the 'true Israel'.

It seems that in his opinion, today's country where Jews live on the West Bank, is a betrayal of democracy and Jewish values.
He allows the National Religious viewpoint to be aired, but criticises it as idealistic and unfair.

He seems aghast at the very presence of Jews in Judea and Samaria.

Whilst I personally acknowledge that the Arabs of the West Bank do deserve a better deal, and do believe that they have a less easy time of things than their counterparts in the regions of Israel to the West of the West Bank, I found Schama's disdain of Jewish West Bank life to be hurtful, dismissive of our historical and religious inheritance, and militarily dangerous.

He framed it as being about Jewish value for quality of life not being extended to Arabs, but I saw it as a backfoot defensive stance that plays right into the hands of Palestinian propaganda.

Baruch Dayan Emeth. Rav Chaim Ovadia Yosef zt"l has just passed on into the Olam HaEmeth. He may have been the last of the Acharonim even in the Sephardic World. In the Ashkenazic world the last Acharonim were probably the Lubavitcher Rebbe and Rav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach both zt"l.
Since then we have only had Rabbis who have lead one specific community or another. An Age has passed.

It is time for Eliyahu HaNavi to show up in the 6th year of the last Shmittah cycle of galut, the year of Kolot (Voices of Prophesy) Kol Mevaser Mevaser ve'Omer.

Neshama: The main source is that ALL of our mitzvot that revolve around giving money to the Beit HaMikdash or to the Kohen revolve around silver coins, all of them. We can safely assume that real silver coins will NOT be an anachronism at the End of Days. Silver coins, along with a few gold coins to store a lot of value in a small coin, will be the currency during Yemot HaMashiach. Kesef, the metal, is the essence of desire and the store of taivah (desire) which has to be directed toward a holy purpose. So silver is the medium of exchange for the things that we desire.

Gold, on the other hand, represents the seat of Gaivah, pride, which must be carefully controlled and in many cases eliminated. So while gold can be a store of value, it cannot be common currency. Gaivah is far more dangerous than taivah and far more difficult to control.

Just to complete the list, Copper represents Chcchmah (wisdom) which must be subservient to G-d but in charge of both our gaivah and our taivah.

Fiat by definition is fake, arbitrary, and not real and cannot be a store of long term value. Nor can it be a stable currency. If Avraham Avinu had purchased the Cave of the Patriarchs from Efron the Hittite for $400,000 instead of 400 silver shekels, we would not be able to demonstrate ownership 3700 years later. 3700 years later we would be questioning whether Avraham purchased the Cave for its fair market value.

Yes, there were also 600,000 Jews either at the Kotel or trying to get to the Kotel on the 5th of Av 5765 to plead for HaShem to try to stop the evacuation from Gush Katif. But we had a problem. The same people who set up the closed circuit tv system to ban unfiltered access to the Internet from Mets Stadium in New York, did not think it was important enough to set up a closed circuit tv system to stop the evacuation. We would have had a virtual audience of 600,000 Jews if they had filled up Mets Stadium to try to stop the evacuation from Gush Katif and to save the subsequent lives and limbs that were lost. The davening was of course kosher, but many were afraid that they might squeeze against a woman upon leaving the Kotel Plaza through the Dung and Cardo Gates. So they were told not to show up. So my thought at the time was "Why not set up a closed circuit tv, and put a screen in the Mir Yeshivah and at Mets Stadium in New York?" It is all about priorities, I guess. What they won't tell you about Thanksgiving Neshama for all those excited American Jews is that this is likely the last or more likely the second to last American Thanksgiving that will ever be celebrated. Within two years, the Flathead, the Apache, and the Navajo will be giving thanks to G-d for getting their ancestral lands back, measure for measure. The Ba'al Kerry accuses us of stealing someone else's land. Then the truly native people of North America who were not wiped out in total 150 years ago will get their native lands back. Measure for measure. When we find a fully red cow, they will spot a fully white buffalo.

But on a sadder note:

Another bright light passed on last night...no, not Maran Ovadia, we knew about him already...but

Nehama Consuelo Timstitt aka Nehama Consuelo bat Sarah Imenu v'Avraham Avinu, z"l

Note: Consuelo is Spanish for Nehama (consolation); so, it's a double name, like Dov Ber.

Nehama became a giyoret some 40 years ago here in Israel after moving here in 1972. She went on to write numerous articles, and compiled, edited and contributed to some books (you can still find one reference on the internet under the name Nehama Consuelo Nahmoud - namely Parables from Bagdad in the Sephardic Heritage Series - sadly, long out of print). Nehama spoke, and was literate in, at least six languages, including English, Russian, French, Hebrew, Portuguese and Czech. (She tried learning Arabic, but found even the children's books too violent to continue. What she remembered, she used well.)

She chose the Sephardic path, having first encountered Jews from this heritage in France before coming to Israel and officially making aliyah. She helped bring about the raising up of the Sephardic community here, and often remembered the day when a parade of students marched into her beit-knesset singing "Ashorer Shirah," an old, famous Spanish-style song. The occasion was a victory of some sort that I don't remember, to my shame.

She was also a musician, having played the saxophone, clarinet and oboe - this last became her love in her later years. She formed and headed the women's chamber orchestra "Alei Hadas" for quite a number of years. Some of you may have heard of this group.

Nehama's spiritual leanings ranged from the Ben Ish Hai to Rebbi Nachman of Breslev. She read avidly from the books of Rabbi Zelig Pliskin (who spoke movingly at her funeral last night), and Rabbanit Tzipporah Heller (who has written about her - but you wouldn't know it because the incident(s) in question was (were) disguised).

She had quite a group of friends and supporters, of which I was one of the latest. I thought I would share this with you as best I can now, because of the chance that some of the Israelis who read here might remember her, and because she passed so close behind Rav Yosef that traffic was still tied up so badly that I had to give up on a cab ride to the funeral and had to walk - and barely made it in time.

One of our mutual friends pointed out that her last Shabbat in this world was No'ach - related to her name.

There is so much more than what I have written here...sorry if it's too long as it is.

Even though he'd made a decision on land for peace, it doesn't mean he didn't make a mistake. Men make mistakes. Moshe Rabbeinu made mistakes. If you find out that throwing Jews out of their home 'for peace' only brought the enemy closer and now he is shooting rockets from a closer position, do you still stick to that stubborn opinion even if it causes some of the worst damage to the Jewish nation? Land for peace has been an abject failure. When your partner in peace is a pathological liar whose pastime is thinking of ways to kill Jews, there is nothing you can do to bring peace. Nothing! Only G-d can bring peace. Man is utterly inept.

Well this was the problem all along. The conditions for any territorial abandonment will never be met. Every single one of these has lead to the spilling of Jewish blood by the gallons. Even the Egyptian Peace Treaty lead to bloodshed by allowing tunnels into Gaza from territory that should never have been abandoned, the northeastern Sinai. If Israel had controlled it there never would have been tunnels into Gaza and there would have been no need for a Philadelphi corridor. Gaza would be surrounded by Israeli troops. Of course the northeastern Sinai is part of Eretz Yisrael according to the Book of Numbers, all the way to Wadi El Arish which was the ancient border with Egypt.

According to the Chareidi Worldview, how much Jewish blood has to be spilt until someone figures out that this land for Peace business is not working out? Are they still in perpetual galut mode? That attitude leads to loss of life and the shedding of Jewish blood.

My least favorite story from the Disengagment was when the Ashkenazi Chareidi party did a calculation that missiles from Gaza would never reach Bnei Brak or even Ashdod, where one of the leaders of UTJ has a synagogue and a Yeshivah. What someone forgot to tell one of the only Chassidic Rebbes who supported the Disengagement who was in control of Agudath Yisrael Party faction of UTJ was that if Israel abandoned the four buffer yishuvim in Northern Gaza, missiles from the northern tip of Gaza abandoned by Israel would reach Ashdod. About two or three years ago, there was a missile attack on Ashdod which has suffered more than its share of missile attacks. One of the missiles crashed through the roof of the synagogue of this particular Chassidic sect, and the missile did not explode. It landed hanging from the ceiling with the tip of the missile touching the bimah in the synagogue, where the Torah is read, of this particular sect that supported the Disengagement. No one learned a lesson. Their choice for UTJ Knesset Minister is still serving as one of the heads of UTJ as he served in Sharon's Disengagement Govt. If you want to wonder why G-d is allowing Chareidim to be drafted, look into choices that were made in previous Shmittah cycles for the answer. And stop blaming everyone else for poor decisions of those who one might consider a Gadol. You can't vote to support yeshivot out of missile range while others suffer for your support for withdrawals in order to get the money and then expect G-d not to notice.

If UTJ gets rid of Moshe Gafni and this man and replaces them with Meir Porush and Yisrael Eichler, the Chareidi fortunes will likely improve. G-d will be happier with the situation at least. It would at least demonstrate regret for the Crime of 5765.

All will be completed from the World of Lies by the end of 5775. And in 5775 itself, the wicked will be engulfed in Fire. This is the promise of the 7th circuit on Hoshana Rabba. They are simply making it harder on themselves.

Do we really need a rigorously run scientific study to show that...

A Married Mom and Dad Really Do Matter: New Evidence from Canada

Apparently we do. Too many authorities think "all families are equal." This is the latest of many studies of this type - from a country that encourages same-sex and single-parent families. Thanks to Douglas Allen, economist and the study's author.

"Unlike US-based studies, this one evaluates a 20 percent sample of the Canadian census, where same-sex couples have had access to all taxation and government benefits since 1997 and to marriage since 2005."

Finally! It seems people need not be coerced into accepting the politically-correct homosexual agenda. It's turning out that children in a homosexual-couple family are about as likely as those from a single-parent family to finish high school/secondary school.

I wonder about the so-called "blended" heterosexual couple-families. How does coming from a family that divorced and remarried affect things compared to the families studied?

I also shudder to think of the results of including a question on the circumstances of birth of children raised in single-parent or homosexual couple families.

Let's hope our PM reads this one before considering caving in to the Left Coast agenda on these issues.

The nations are treacherous prostitutes- especially the British and Chinese. They are psychopathic in their self interest. The British cunningly undermine Israel while supporting in every way our murderous peace partners. The Chinese will help make that railway in Israel as if they are making it for themselves because that is their mindset. It will be theirs in the not-so-distant future. They will own it. This is how they think of America too, like paying on the lay-away plan. They only have one payment or two to go and they will own it.

The only one amongst them who will tie up the Debt Ceiling with ObamaCare is Obama himself. Congress with Boehner will try to separate the two. He will allow a vote on the Debt Ceiling even if the majority of Republicans are against it. It will pass with almost all the Democrats and a few Republicans. And the Senate will of course raise the ceiling. The President is a revolutionary, not a liberal. He may very well want collapse now, and might demand that ObamaCare be funded so that the Debt Ceiling can be raised. We will have a better idea next week. Under normal circumstances, and it is not normal now, The Powers at Be would raise the Debt Ceiling unlinking it from everything else.

People need to look at the trends in the news rather than every single event.

In about 2006 the world was introduced to what was then referred to as the "sub-prime mortgage bubble". Sub-prime mortgages were mortgages given to people who were not necessarily credit worthy. When that bubble burst back in around '06, all the "optimists" said that the damage was limited to the sub-prime sector and it was, therefore, going to be manageable.

Then the trend started to rattle the wider real estate market and we began to hear whispers of a possible real estate bubble (not limited to only the sub-prime sector). In other words, the over all trend got worse.

Then the financial institutions involved in the sub-prime market and some of the more speculative aspects of the real estate market started to falter and fail (think Lehman, AIG, etc...) In other words, the over all trend got worse again.

Then the real estate bubble (which now officially existed!) burst. In other words, the over all trend got significantly worse.

Then the credit markets as a whole began to freeze and in late 2008 the US economy was in extremely dangerous territory. In other words, the over all trend got much, much worse.

Then countries in the EU began to "go under". That's right, I said COUNTRIES! And of course, we know what that means.... the trend continued to get worse.

Here in the US, the City of Detroit filed for bankruptcy! And the downward trajectory continues.

Now, a possible US default on debt payments is being discussed. Whether it happens or not I irrelevant. The fact that it is being discussed is what matters. Only a few years ago, these discussions would be unheard of. Today, however, we live in a world where it is possible (albeit unlikely at this time) that the US will not be able to pay its debts. In other words, the trend has gotten SHOCKINGLY WORSE.

(Parenthetically, the fact that a default is being discussed means that at some point it will probably be a reality. That's how things work over here. First they discuss disaster but avoid it. However, the discussions desensitize people to the disaster and make it seem somehow normal or acceptable so that at some point in the future when the US does actually go over the cliff it will not be that big of a shock.)

The bottom line is that if you pay attention to every detail of news, every financial report, every unemployment statistic, every financial indicator, etc.. you will get lost in the details and lose sight of the big picture. On the other hand, if you ignore every tiny detail and instead focus on the broader trend it is undeniable that the US is a sinking ship.

The Signs of World Politics

The Bible prophesies that there will be a certain pattern of world politics that will characterize the end time geopolitical map.

The focus will be the re-established state of Israel (Zechariah 12:2-3). It will be besieged by a menacing nation from the "the nation of remote parts of the north" (Ezekiel 38:2,6), or modern day Russia.

There will also be a threatening nation to the East that will be capable of sending an army of 200 million. China???.

A third source of danger to Israel will be the Arab nations that immediately surround it. They will covet the land and will try to take it from the Jews (Ezekiel 35:10 and 36:2).

Another key player on the world political scene in the end times will be a coalition of European nations that will form a confederation centered in the area of the old Roman empire (Daniel 2:41-44, Daniel 7:7,23-24).

Other international political signs include wars and rumors of wars, and general international terrorism and lawlessness.

How DARE Yesh Din ("There is Judgment"), or any other Leftist, EU-funded organization, show its face to the rest of us in Israel after WHAT THEY JUST DID!

Have they no shame?! I wonder how they could feel davka free to take off their mask so blatantly and publicly. They can't turn around now and tell us how they hold the Jews' self-interest so at heart, and expect us to believe them. I didn't think it would come to this, but maybe Helen Thomas was right, at least about such as these - they should go back to where they belong - to Germany and her sister states. They'd fit right in, till they find out just how Jewish they are considered there. Good riddance to bad rubbish (and may the good Jews of Germany, etc., come back home!)!

The rest of us can stay right here, where we belong.

excellent post. And you are absolutely right...unthinkable agendas or scenarios are floated to accustom the public to hearing and considering some time before the actual event will occur. This desensitizing (like boiling lobster) paves the way for the unthinkable to more easily take place. For those of us that know this, it should be a G-d given warning to then prepare and G-d given time for us to do so.

The pressures on Israel at this time that are coming from the East and the West indicate that the end-time war of the nations against the G‑d and people of Israel, which was prophesied by the prophets of Israel to be the ultimate judgment upon the nations, is behind the door.

The role of IRAN in these End Times is clearly laid out in Ezekiel 38 where IRAN is named as one of the countries who will join with Russia ['king from the north'] to converge on the mountains of Israel in their End Time attack upon the Holy Land. This event will take place in this generation & is already in the process of building into its prophetical fulfillment as current Headline News clearly present.

Although Russia [King of the North] will LEAD this coming convergence on Israel, the Arab - Muslim countries who join Russia are the prime mo- tivating force sparking the military attack.

These are the proven terrorist-type nations who are bold and public today about wanting Israel's destruction. Namely, IRAN, Libya, Syria and Turkey, to name a few.

Today's sudden turmoil and internal uprising in EGYPT [as of Jan 2011] will continue to fuel today's ARAB-MUSLIM hate towards Israel in nearing this inevitable Russian - Arab - Muslim convergence upon the mountains of Israel as foretold in Ezekiel.

David Buckner on Hyperinflation

Hyperinflation will result in the collapse of the dollar within 3 months. At this time the US as a 0%target interest rate. So dollars are flying out of the US. The minute that the Fed raises target interest rates even a smidgen, the dollars will flow back into the US, and it will trigger hyperinflation. It will be all over within three months. Buckner is talking about this happening in the Fall or Winter of 5775.

Whenever silver shekels are used as a korban or a donation to the mishkan in the Torah, it refers to years.

1. Each tribal prince at the dedication of the Mishkan gave a 130 shekel silver bowl. 130 x 12= 1560 years. There were 1560 years from the Judgement of Adam in Year One until the birth of Shem son of Noach in the 504th year of Noach's life. Noach was born in the year 1056 so that Shem was born in the year 1560. Shem played an important role of keeping belief in the One Eternal G-d in the world after the Flood. Unlike Avraham he did NOT proclaim it to the entire world, but if you visited him in the City of (Yeru)Shalem, he would talk to you about it.

2. Each prince also gave a 70 shekel silver basin. 70 x 12= 840 years. There were 840 years from the birth of Shem until Moshe Rabbeinu ran away from Pharaoh because he had killed an Egyptian taskmaster.

3. In parshat Pekudei after collecting the half shekel tax for the Temple treasury, Moshe collected 100 kikar (300,000 shekels) of silver plus an additional 1775 shekels of silver that were given by 3550 additional people above 600,000.

Subject: September 2008 / world economies

Back in December of 2007 I was watching (with no small consternation) the planet Mars (Edom) rise with the constellation Orion, the hunter (Esau). Not a good combination to say the least. Then on the evening of December 23/24 the moon became full and an hour and change later occults Mars. My first thought was that war had been conceived. Mars to Moon as seed to ovum.

Exactly 9 lunar months later Lehman Brothers files for bankruptcy and the worlds economies began to shake.

613 ring a bell?

As far as I can tell the stone has struck the feet of the statue and the worlds economies are becoming chaff in the wind...

Daniel 2 JPS

2:31 Thou, O king, sawest, and behold a great image. This image, which was mighty, and whose brightness was surpassing, stood before thee; and the appearance thereof was terrible.
2:32 As for that image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of brass,
2:33 its legs of iron, its feet part of iron and part of clay.
2:34 Thou sawest till that a stone was cut out without hands, which smote the image upon its feet that were of iron and clay, and broke them to pieces.

2:35 Then was the iron, the clay, the brass, the silver, and the gold, broken in pieces together, and became like the chaff of the summer threshing-floors; and the wind carried them away, so that no place was found for them; and the stone that smote the image became a great mountain, and filled the whole earth.

This 1775 shekels of silver take us until the end of parnassah for this world of lies. It is the the time piece which sets a restriction of continued prosperity that exists in the Beri'ah for financial success in a world where the wicked prosper and the righteous suffer from poverty. According to the Talmud, the first 2000 years were years of chaos (tohu) until Avraham's voice cried out from Charan. The next 2000 years where years in which the Torah was being pumped into the Creation. This takes us until the generation when Yehudah HaNassi put the Oral Torah into writing in the Mishnah before the year 240 ce (year 4000). The last 2000 years are the years of Mashiach when Mashiach can come. Apparently 1775 of those years were years in which the world could prosper even if Mashiach had not come. It comes to a sudden end by the end of 5775.

The princes also gave one ten shekel ladle per prince. 10 x 12= 120 years of Moshe Rabbeinu's life. Silver in this paradigm represents parnassah for all the years described. Gold represents the bringing down of the Torah from Heaven which were encompassed by the 120 years of Moshe Rabbeinu's life. There is an overlap of the first 32 years of Moshe's life. This is because Moshe could only become the man with the destiny that he was meant to have after he left Pharaoh's house. There are other varying opinions in the medrash how old he was.

The interim fix basically allows more dollars to be printed to buy more American Federal debt as it climbs above 17 trillion dollars in debt. The more dollars that are "printed" or digitalized into the system, the more worthless it becomes.

10/11/2013 12:26 AM
Blogger Dov Bar-Leib said...

As long as there was an option that Congress would slash federal spending rather than raising the debt ceiling, there was upward pressure on the dollar. As soon as it became obvious that there would be no serious spending cuts which translates into more dollars chasing more Federal debt, the dollar went down. The one thing keeping it from total collapse, mind you, is record low US interest rates for almost five years now. According to Buckner, they will be able to pull this off for maybe one more year, but no longer. Interest rates will eventually have to go up, and then watch out how fast the dollar plunges.

I think when the currencies collapse, it will be the size and population of Israel that helps Hashem save it.
Borders may well be shut, trade with other countries at a virtual standstill.

Israel though is small in geographic size, most of the population living close to each other.
Makes it relatively easy for crops to be picked and then delivered to people.
Israel is self sufficient in nearly all aspects of food production, plus has about 90% of the population able to get some electricity from solar panels.

Contrast to the United Kingdom which imports about 40% of food, and has less than 1% of the population able to get electricity from solar panels.

During World War II about 16,000,000 personnel served in the U.S. Military. Approximately 11,200,000 or 70% served in the U.S. Army (4,200,000 served in the Navy and 660,000 in the Marines.)

The Sixteenth United States Census, conducted by the Census Bureau, determined the resident population of the United States to be 132,164,569, an increase of 7.3 percent over the 1930 population of 123,202,624 persons. The census date of record was April 1, 1940. That makes the size of serving in the U.S. Military approximately 8.5% of total US population at that time.

Current Chinese population 1,360,400,000 by October 10, 2013 (19.1% of world population). (Census figure refers to mainland China, excluding its Special Administrative Regions (SARs) of Hong Kong and Macau. The first one returned to Chinese sovereignty in mid-1997 and the second one did so on December 20, 1999.)

That makes the corresponding potential size of serving in military 115.284.150. Not a small number of military staff.

I believe he learned this lesson. Perhaps life in Baghdad as a Dhimmi growing up was not so bad, and he thought that it was possible to live in peace with Arabs. The problem of course is that since the founding of the State of Israel, we have thrown off our Dhimmi status here in Eretz Yisrael, and the fact that the Moslem mindset would fight us until our extinction as an independent country did NOT occur to him when he made that p'sak. Yet, in 1993/94 anyone with an ounce of common sense could see that the handshake with Arafat was a handshake to shed Jewish blood. Kerry Warned Netanyahu: If Talks Fail, Israel Will be Isolated

The Ba'al Kerry's nine months will NOT cause us harm Me'ir. The nine months that would have caused suffering either began on Tisha B'Av 5772 or with the UN Vote on the 15th of Kislev 5773. Baruch HaShem, He has delivered us from the pain and agony of Geulah here in Eretz Yisrael. It won't be a picnic, but it will take faith. HaShem is the Master Craftsman (Uman). We have emunah (same root) that he will bring Geulah with respect to all Jews who want to be in Eretz Yisrael without slicing it into pieces at this time.

Re Neshama's comment on Torah scholars serving in the Jewish military. That's the point, these chareidim know that the military, especially in the last couple of decades is not behaving as a Jewish army. They are beholden to foreign powers. But, of course, it is a mitzvah for Jewish men, from the time of yetziat Mitraim, to fight the battles against our enemies; but the Rebbes know that this push for them to be enlisted is only about watering down the religiousity of the youth. They really are not needed nor wanted by the IDF. It's only a political move for the above reason.

The full implementation of the Chareidi draft won't even occur. It is scheduled to start in 2017, but Mashiach will already be here by sometime in 2016 if not earlier. So try not to sweat it. more later.

It is time to care less about what the vast majority thinks in this dying world, including most of the world's Jews. The world is dying in large part because of them, Jew and gentile alike. That is the harsh truth. Attach oneself to our Father in Heaven and the few other people who are wide awake about the zombies whose opinion HaAretz thinks that we should pay attention to.

As Knesset winter session opens, the issues of equalization of the burdens of the state and haredi enlistment are high on the agenda; Shas leader Deri says yeshiva students are more important than soldiers."

I believe Bennett actually believes this to be a good thing, "their integration".

I envision a Deri vs Bennett year ahead of us.

Israeli Leftist Shocked by Anti-Semitic Hostility in America

Sorry to say this Me'ir, but Chen Mazzig and other leftists don't get a free pass into Olam HaBa because they are realizing that the entire world hates them too even if they want to bask in the glory of hating Jews who live in Yesha. Mazzig's and other's kavanah is to hate Jews in Yesha in order to embellish their own popularity and pocketbooks, and their hatred is publicly expressed. This is a very low level of teshuvah, and it is not done out of love. Yet, this is the teshuvah that they are doing which is necessary to bring Mashiach, I guess. It does not make Mazzig my friend. These popularity seekers have destroyed lives, stood idly by while Jewish blood was shed, and have spoken slanders against the Jewish people which has shed more blood and torn limbs from other people's bodies. How can this be so easily forgiven?

Perhaps Rav Lazer Brody and other kiruv experts can now have a field day talking to all these former popularity and world public opinion seekers who are confused that their avodah zarah is no longer bringing them benefits and nachat ru'ach. As for me if one of them shows up at my door running away from missiles in Tel Aviv, I will point to the adjoining hill in Migron, give them a bottle of potable water, and tell them to live there for the duration of the war.

The Crisis/by Manhigut Yehudit

The Secular Roots of Zionism
The Land of Israel was given by God to the Jewish People. This gift of the holiest of lands brings with it great responsibility to fulfill God's word and to bring His light to the entire world.

Throughout the centuries of exile, the Jewish People longed and prayed to return to the Holy Land as a holy nation.

The Jewish People longed and prayed to return to the Holy Land.

The Zionist movement, which founded the State of Israel, was the result of these centuries of longing. However, it was a product of the times and place in which it was born. It is based on secular, 19th century Western views and ideologies. Miraculously, the Zionist movement succeeded in building the complete infrastructure of a modern state - replete with a strong army, high tech, immigration and absorption out of the wilderness.

An Israel Devoid of Divine Purpose
In its very essence, though, modern Zionism negates holiness. God and Israel's Divine destiny were left out of the equation. The holy Torah was deemed totally irrelevant to the state of Israel. It was relegated to purely ceremonial status while Western standards and ideas dictate every significant facet of Israeli life.

This secular orientation has stripped Israel of the tools necessary to reflect the Jewishness of the state and its ultimate holy purpose.

The very Zionist ideology that built the modern state of Israel has now turned against itself as it seeks to purge itself of its Biblical roots and Divine purpose. This self-destructive bent is the ultimate conclusion of the secular ideology upon which Zionism is based. It also explains the zeal of Israeli governments -- both left and right -- to divest Israel of its heartland. "Peace" has become a euphemism for the desire to rid Israel of its Jewish identity.

From "Safe Haven" to Surrender
Modern Israel's obsession with international recognition derives from the very foundation of Zionism. Theodore Herzl saw international recognition as a cornerstone of the Zionist movement and as integral to Israel's declared purpose as a safe haven for the Jewish People. This explains the near fixation that the state of Israel still displays to this very day with international approval. Israel has been willing to do almost anything (relinquish vital land, release terrorists, evade pre-emptive strikes or even refrain from counter-attack) making many grave and costly concessions at the expense of the very lives of its citizens in order to achieve this elusive endorsement. Ironically, it is this obsessive desire for international approval that has seriously compromised the security of the residents of the "safe haven."

A State of All its Citizens
In modern Western thought, nationalism is now passé. Modern countries of the "global village" are comprised of citizens from various cultures and places of origin. What binds them together is the mere fact that they all live in the same place, and eventually adopt a common language, and later, a common culture and history. This trend has also been adopted in modern day Israel. The momentum toward citizenship for all residents of Israel, regardless of their religion, is part of the Zionist ideology based on Western culture. If not checked, it will effectively transform Israel from a Jewish state to a state with some Jewish citizens.
