Idle Speculation

My desire to publish my lengthy post about the year of Gog UMagog has been delayed by a serious tragedy to the family of the Aish HaTorah rabbi in S. Louis, MO. I am publishing a letter instead that I just published on the Mystical Paths blog hinting at the post that I wanted to publish this week.

Until then please say tehillim for Tehilla bat Bracha, Elisha ben Bracha, David ben Bracha, and Chaim ben Bracha. They are is serious condition in Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital in S. Louis. Here is the letter:

This is more than just idle speculation. There are many things one can do to prepare for what is about to happen after the Congressional elections on the 17th of Cheshvan, between then and Pesach. Rent or buy here in Israel. Come to see the Holy Land as the island of safety as the entire world is flooded by the effects of Gog UMagog. Seeing the hand of G-d in history is the ultimate root of teshuvah.

So much of this is being brought on by the apathy of so many Jews to the plight of the refugees from Gush Katif and the Northern Shomron. They have only received a fraction of their compensation. G-d's Name is filling all four universes as we speak to avenge their sullied holiness. This process was triggered by the evacuations and started within seven months after the evacuations on the 25th of Adar, 5766. The Targum Yonatan himself wrote that the evacuations from the "City of the Date Palms, Newe' Dekalim" would trigger the build up to Gog UMagog within one year of the evacuation. All four universes will be filled by the 17th of Cheshvan this year. This only happened in full once before in World History, just before the Great Flood. To ignore whether or not it is happening now would be something for which one should really do teshuvah!

I'm not certain that this is what R' Bar-Leib is referring to, but in the final Parsha of Dvarim, Ch. 34, v. 3 there is a reference in Targum Yonathan to the exile of talmidim from "Kirvat [ie, "settlement of" or Neve] Dikalaiah [Dekalim]" "al yad achuhon Beith Israel" or "by the hand of their brothers, Beit Israel". That is part of a pretty long translation of this verse, listing other exiles and may obliquely refer to the original part of the Hebrew verse: "Ihr haTamarim".
