The Darkness (Greece) is on the face of the Abyss (Rome) (Gen. 1:2)
The financial collapse of Western Civilization is staring us in the face, and the Greeks in spite of the total financial bankruptcy of their country seem to have enough time to launch a major flotilla against Israel. Here is what I just posted on another blog in the comments section. I do not have time to write more extensively about this until next week, but this will do for now.
This is really a commentary on both Daniel chapter 7 and on Bilaam's last blessing of Israel in Parshat Balak in the book of Numbers.
The ten kings in Sefer Daniel have not yet arisen. They will only arise after the complete economic collapse of Malkhut Edom, the Western World in the 3rd year of the Shmittah cycle 5771. This could happen when "fleets of mercantile ships go forth from Kittim", flotilla from Greece starting as early as next week, parshat Balak, after Rosh Chodesh Tamuz. This would be of course the second such flotilla allowing for the plural use of the word in Hebrew for "fleets". The Targum Yonatan in another one of his amazing visions said that the principle city in sending these fleets of ships would be Costantina, which of course is Constantinople or Istanbul, Turkey. Of course there is one "problem" with Yonatan ben Uziel's sweeping description of End Times events. Rav Yonatan lived at the beginning of the first century of the common era before the destruction of the 2nd Temple. Constantine lived a full three centuries after the Targum Yonatan's death. There was no Constantinople for at least three centuries after the death of the Targum Yonaton!!! Yet, there it is, the name of the city in black and white, another unbelievable proof of the veracity of the Oral Torah!
If the military from Greece with the support from the population overthrows Greek Parliament in a coup and rejects the recently passed austerity measures, both the Euro and then the dollar will collapse in relatively short order. Or it could happen in another way. Either way the New World Order already has a plan: ten economic superstates, each with their own "governor" and currency. These economic superstates will be Free Trade Associations. So the Euro will be resurrected. NAFTA will have the amero and so forth. Only in Eretz Yisrael will a different leader arise or he is already here who will not fit the mold. That would be Mashiach ben Yosef. It will be only because of Mashiach ben Yosef that the world economy will begin to improve in the 4th year of the Shmittah cycle 5772. The world will hate him, and it will be through this that MBY will subdue Edom and destroy Amalek over a 3 1/2 year period. In Edom itself things will not be going so well. So an 11th horn either from Amalek or Yishmael will subdue 3 or the 10 governors, and take over the shebang and come chasing after Israel. If he is the European Armilus as opposed to the Erev Rav Armolgus, he will obviously be from Amalek, and the complete destruction of Amalek will proceed from there. If he is from Yishmael, he may be Barack Obama, maybe, or he may be a European Muslim, and he will end of killing MBY at the end of 3 1/2 years, and ben David will arise in Tishrei or Cheshvan of the year after the Shmittah year. The next Shmittah year is 5775. Any questions? In short the Redemption starts full steam with the collapse of the dollar by Rosh Chodesh Av 5771??? This will definitely vary in accordance to HaShem's wishes, but I verily believe that the timetable will proceed in this manner give or take a couple of months. But a 60% chance that the dollar will be in serious collapse within the month.
Everyone have a Shabbat Shalom and a great Chodesh (New Moon) of what used to be a horrible month, Tamuz. The mazal for the month is the Crab which in Hebrew is the same name as the jener machalah, that horrible dreaded disease, the Big C. But this year, I verily believe the curse is on our enemies in Edom. And yes even on America. Why you may ask? Well ask Gog W. Bush why in the Spring of 2002, 6 months after 9/11, the IDF could not put a bullet in Yasser Arafat's head while he wanted to put a bullet in Bin Laden's head. Arafat was holed up in his Ramallah compound during Operation Defensive Wall after bloody Adar and then the Pesach massacre. Gog W. Bush, Jr. sent Colin Powell to tell Sharon that the IDF could not put a bullet in Arafat's head even though he had been personally responsible for the death of over a thousand innocent non-combatant Jews. Through the Al Aksa Martyrs Brigade Arafat continued to murder Jews until his death 2 1/2 years later probably from AIDS. At least 200 Jews cry out from the grave because of Gog W.'s demand. And America's plea stinks before the Heavenly Court. Since Bush probably made that demand to appease the Saudis to keep ratcheting up oil production, it is the American dollar that has to crash, measure for measure. Yours Truly decided that we needed to make Aliyah within the year because of this blatant ugly hypocrisy. Why other Jews did not follow suit, well perhaps they have forgotten that human decency is kadmah to the Torah. And the gentile world is liable for its human indecency that Gog W. It happens that Greece has indeed blocked the flotilla and even arrested someone. How do you explain this according to your viewpoint that modern Greece is related to ancient Greece?
The answer to your question is quite basic. Modern Greek may have evolved over the last 2000 years, but with certain linguistic changes, they are speaking the same language. The Torah defines a nation by its language more than anything else.
By the way, George Papandreou is on thin ice right now. He is an extremely unpopular PM. And a military coup definitely looms as a distinct possibility in the very near future. Any positions of the Papandreou government will be overturned in such a coup. Or Papandreou may simply change his mind. And even if the Greeks stay firm and do not let these ships depart, the ships from Istanbul (Constantinople) which were set to meet up with the Greek ships will probably leave for Gaza no matter what.

I am confused by your statement that mothertongue defines a nation, as countless Jews have had all sort of goyishe languages as mameloshn, and many have reserved lashon hakodesh for holy speech only, even after Modern Hebrew's success, and have raised their children with a different mother tongue.

We will see how it evolves, but right now the governments of Greece and Italy are not supporting the flotilla. Do you think this will change in the Three Weeks? Or earlier?

Remember everyone - Dov is awesome and we love his blogs. But we must be sure to remember that these are not predictions but merely warnings...Only Hashem knows the Ketz. Only Hashem knows when everything will collapse. It could be a month or a year or five years. It is important not to lose sight of the fact that if for whatever reason nothing happens in the month of Tammuz or up to Rosh Hashana that Hashem merely has a different timetable in mind.

The answer to the above is basic. Starting this year on Rosh Chodesh Av the tables have been turned. The curse of the nine days is now on Edom for two reasons:
1. Mincha Gedolah of the 6th Millennium where the purpose of serving G-d to make money is so that the purpose of making money is to serve G-d. The blessing to only serve G-d at the 33rd level of purity where the purpose of serving G-d is solely to make money will not work any more.
G-d will now thwart such efforts probably through natural means. If one's purpose is not lishma, that nation will fail. So America who has succeeded well for its first 230 some odd years serving G-d to make money will no longer succeed because Esau will never adopt into the system where the purpose of being good is for its own sake. At least he will not adopt that system unless Ya'akov shows him the way.
2. We are now ending the year of Hoshana Rabba. At the end of this year starting about now, all of human history is coming under judgment. Esau has no reward built up for G-d's New World Order which begins next year in the Year of Shmini Atzereth. So systemic failure is likely between now and the end of the year 5771.

can you comment on the recent east coast earthquake? There have been activities close to the ocean cliff (that is, the one on the bottom of the ocean, where the American plate pulls away from the African plate) since the 70s, it's not a complete surprise that there may be an earthquake, but it's both uncommon for the area and potentially risky (even if seismic risk in a strict sense is not high, a tsunami might do relevant damage).
