The Heavenly Court Cases Continue

As a response to someone's letter to me, I have decided to make it my next post until I have more time for lengthier posts. I have just completed setting up our new family LAN with the help of, believe it or not, Meturgaman who is one of my neighbors. Thanks a bunch to him for his knowledge of router technology. Here is my response to one of the readers:

You are correct as far as your analysis that the last great war with Edom comes from Persia (Iran). This is based on the Gemorrah in Yoma and the famous Gemorrah on the first Mishna in Avodah Zarah. Yet, even though the leaders of Iran may not be direct descendents of Yishmael, they are the leading nation at the End of Days under Yishmael's "sphere of influence". According to the Gaon of Vilna, 35 of the 70 nations are under Edom's "sphere" and 35 nations are under Yishmael's and the Bnei Ketura's "sphere of influence". Because the sin offering for the first, second, and fourth days of Sukkot is called Seir Izim, Yishmael and the children of Ketura are judged on those days. Because the sin offering for the third, fifth, sixth, and seventh day of Sukkot is called Seir, the 35 nations under Edom's sphere of influence are judged on those days. Do the math yourself. On the first, second, and fourth day of Sukkot 13, 12, and 10 bulls are offered up on those days for a total of 35 bulls representing the 35 nations under the influence of Yishmael and the Bnei' Ketura. On the remaining days 35 more bulls are offered up representing the 35 nations under Edom's dominance. At the End of Days Yishmael's principle nation is Iran and Edom's principle nation is Magog (which includes the United States, Canada, Eastern and Central Siberia, and modern Mongolia). The principle nation in this case of course is the USA.

Because this is the Second year of Sukkot, if Gog W. prosecutes the war this year, he will probably win, for in this year Yishmael is judged. If he delays the inevitable until next year, Iran will probably win, for in the third year of Sukkot, Edom is judged. The relative merits of both empires are weighed in the Gemorrah in Avodah Zarah and in Yoma. Edom's main merits are that he provides a high level of prosperity and markets to permit Jews under his sphere of influence leisure time to engage in the toil of Torah. Of course he does it for his own benefit, and he builds markets in order to pedal in sexual immorality. See the Gemorrah itself! Why would he rebuild New Orleans except to party. All other forms of commerce there can be performed in a city that exists above sea level. The only real puropose of rebuilding (Tzoar) aka New Orleans is to engage in sin. Of course with this argument Edom is thrown out of the Heavenly Throne Room in Avodah Zarah. Persia swaggers in claiming many things. He historically built bridges between the West and the Far East before commerce by sea became more economical. He conquered cities such as Fallujah, a.K.a. Pumpeditha in the Middle Ages so that Jews could study Torah there, so he claims. Of course at this time in history the one city that he wants to conquer more than any other city in the world is Yerushalayim for the sole purpose of making it Judenrein. So much for modern Persia's merit. Out of the Heavenly Court Room he makes a quick exit as he gets no reward for Israel's Torah Study.

Yet, until this day Persia has one great true merit that no other nation can claim. Under his benevolent authority during the reigns of Koresh and Daryavush (Darius) the Second Temple was started and completed respectively. Except for the notorious reign of Xerxes (Achashverosh), the Temple building project proceeded and was completed under Persian rule. No matter that Darius was Queen Esther's son, and therefore a Jew, and was destined to allow the completion of the heretofore greatest reconstruction project in history. There is a tremendous merit to providing the political stability and sanction to build G-d's Sanctuary. In contrast to Persia, Edom had the distinct curse to destroy the Temple that was built under Persian auspices. It is one of the reasons that the Gemorrah mentions that after Edom is seen running out of the Heavenly Courtroom, Persia has the legitimate audacity to think that maybe G-d will be more favorably disposed towards it. By the way the other reason the Gemorrah in Avodah Zarah mentions Persia without mentioning the the other 70 nations coming into Court to retrieve their reward is that none of these other nations are around to try to retrieve their reward when Mashiach comes. The Gemorah plainly indicates that the last two gentile nations in the boxing ring for world dominance at the End of Days are Edom and Persia.

At this juncture in history Persia would like to reverse all of its great merit through total annihilation of Israel. Edom seems predisposed to simply dividing the Holy Land in two. Their historic roles are now reversed. Persia, our greatest historical benefactor is now our most implacable foe. Edom now wants to share half of the Holy City with us. Of course he wants to keep the holier half for his international capital, but at least he won't close down Ben Yehudah Mall, and Jews will continue to live in their ghettos within the 1949 armistice lines. Whether Jews get to continue to live in Pisgat Ze'ev and Ma'aleh Adumim, it depends on whom you talk to, Gog W. or Tony Blair. One thing they agree on is that Jews will forever be praying at the base of those Herodian stones which make up the Western retaining wall to the Temple Mount. And a Palestinian Capital (read international presence) will perpetually exist stretching from Ramallah to the Temple Mount. Ayn Yichud b'Rishut. There is only true unity in G-dliness. These Titans of the ancient world are bound to duke it out. Whether it is this year or in 5767, the entire world is waiting to see whom the Creator has decided who will win.

Thank you so much for sharing this. Please share more of your letters. This one was really good.

So now this would explain why some sources have Persia destroying Edom and others say Edom will destroy Persia. It all depends on the timing which is determined by free will.

"...this would explain why some sources have Persia destroying Edom and others say Edom will destroy Persia."

I think that the actual explanation is that they will destroy each other's civilizations.

Is there not a Midrash that Moshiach will come after
Edom wins the final war against Yishmael.

BS"D

Zohar Torah portion of Va'era page 32a

...In the future the children of Yishmael will stir great wars in the world. And the children of Edom [the West] will gather against them, and make war with them, one on the sea, and one on the land, and one by Jerusalem; and each one will prevail over the other but the Holy land will not fall to the hands of Edom. At the same time, a nation from the end of the world will be awakened against wicked Rome.(Rome here is said to refer to the spiritual center of western civilization) and it will make war against her for three months, and many nations will gather there, and they will fall by her hand, until all the children of Edom will gather against her from all corners of the earth. And then G-d will awaken Himself against them, as it says, "a sacrificial slaughter for the Lord in Batzra", and it says, "to shake the corners of the Land". And after this, the children of Yishmael will be finished from the world. And all the supernal powers of the nations will be broken, and no power will remain above except for the power of Israel alone.

...at the moment of the ketz at the time of redemption it is impossible for it to come about except via the seed of Yitzchok being in the golus of Yishmael davka [...] and not the seed of Avraham in the golus of Edom. Because [...] in general the two nations of Edom and Yishmael are the aspects of Chesed and Gevurah, and they include all the details that are differentiated among the 70 nations....

So the redemption of Knesses Yisroel from that nation at the time of the redeption must be in the aspect of gevuros, which is the aspect of the prostration of Yitzchok namely the seed of Yitzchok in the golus of Yishmael davka.... From this it is understood that the bulk of the exile has been under the malchus of Edom and Yavan, etc. but the main aspect of redemption is dependent upon the fall of the sar of Yishmael davka, as is stated in the Zohar (Zohar I 32a), and this is sufficient for the understanding.

One version someone on the net is convinced of is that on 'that day':

1) some astronomical event will dim the sunshine,
2) a meteor will hit the earth in a populated area and cause much damage,
3) Iran will explode a nuke in NYC.

I wrote about my belief that this is the year of Yitzkhak extensively in two places. In my derivation of the Cosmic Clock in "Hold on to Your Seat", I show how 5765 was the first year of Sukkot, and since the guest in the Sukkah during the first day of Sukkot is Avraham, that year was the year of Avraham. 5766 is the 2nd year of Sukkot. So it is the year of Yitzkhak who is the honored guest in the sukkah on the 2nd day of Sukkot. Independently of this, based on the Zohar and many Gedolim of the last 100 years including the 5th Lubavitcher Rebbe, there are passages in the Zohar on Parshat VaYera and on the expulsion on Yishmael from Avraham's home which calculate when Mashiach will come B'itah. That B'itah could not be prior to the 2/3 point of the sixth millenium, the year 5666. Rav Winston verified this on his site thirty-six.org within the last three weeks from another major kabbalistic source. The same passage in the Zohar cryptically indicates that the coming of Mashiach b'itah would occur one hundred years later in "the 66th year when he would appear in the Gallilee". This would occur after the 60th year once the threshold of the sixth millenium has been crossed. The exact quotes are discussed in the "Secret of the Vav in HaShem's Name". I discussed there how the threshold had to be after 5666, and how it probably referred to a century mark. Pesach 5766 is exactly one hundred years after the Rebbe Rashab instituted Seudat HaMashiach on the last day of Pesach. This corresponds to the day of Yitzkhak Avinu's brit after he was born on Pesach in the one hundredth year of Avraham's life. Approximately two years later Yishmael was thrown out of his house with his mother Hagar after Yitzkhak was weaned. I have not discussed this yet but this would correspond with the fourth year of Sukkot, the last year that the thirty-five nations under Yishmael's sphere of influence are judged. It is the year 5708, the shmittah year, the seventh year since Gog W. attacked Afghanistan on Hoshana Rabah in 5762 (Fall 2001) in the first year of the shmittah cycle.

You see. The Zohar's hint about the year 5766 corresponding to the one hundredth year of Avraham's life just so happens to correspond to a Cosmic Clock which with G-d's help I was able to discern right after the first Persian Gulf War in 5751. I realized that Gog Sr. had just fought the first of two battles of Gog, discussed in Yechezkel 38 and 39. Yet, he only made it to the outskirts of Batzrah, allowing two Babylonian tank divisions to escape to Baghdad. His battle corresponded to the 2nd year of Rosh HaShana. Which year was the New Moon of Tishrei, 5750 or 5751 could not be determined at that time until 5760 was set as Yom Kippur because it was the onset of the Al Aksa intafada. Therefore 5750 was really the 30th of Elul, and 5751 was the first of Tishrei. And 5765 would be the first year of Sukkot.

Gog W. Jr. rose to prominence in 1994 when he became Governor of Texas. At that time I became convinced that he was the second Gog and that he would try to complete the work of his father which would lead him to subdue Babylon and try to divide Jerusalem.

Frighteningly but, sof-sof, happily everything is coming together. G-d have mercy on us all.

re: wild ox and leviyoson

The feast which is already prepared includes both the meat of the wild ox (shor habar) and the leviyoson, as well as the wine preserverd since maaseh bereishis (yayin hameshumar).

The fins of the levyiyoson will be used to shecht the wild ox, and there are discussions as to how this will be permitted halachically.
